Just out of interest what would people be happy using out of the 4 choices - you can tick multiple choices. I think I've covered the 4 main options available
I'v only ever fitted Ducati belts and will continue to do so, I spend enough on the bike without worrying about a small saving on the belts. Steve
Happy to use Ducati or Exact Fit personally. I notice my sons race bike which was tuned by a well known tuner uses Gates belts and he has never had a problem with them.
I wasn't really going by cost as the Exact Fit appear to be considered better than Ducati branded belts on some forums and tests - although the tests I saw weren't too scientific just wondering what the general consensus is before I buy.
Until I read @Red998 post I had only found Ducati belts for my 748RS engine. If Gates do a 19mm wide belt that would be great. Andy

I've used Dayco on various vehicles without a problem. The Dayco belts I took off my SS still looked very good after 3 years and 5000 miles. Put another set of Dayco belts back on. I'd be equally happy with Gates. Ducati don't make belts, so genuine ones are a bit of a waste of money in my opinion - I can live without a logo for 1/2 the price. It worth noting that the desmo engines (especially the two valve units) present a very light load to the belt, any name brand will be absolutely fine.
just a mental block with me, first choice gates then dayco or blue print. when i worked for halfords many years ago the halfords packaging contained fram filters and gates belts.
Biggest challenge is finding the part numbers for the different belt widths. philoldsmobile is right, Ducati source their OE belts from Gates but sadly Gates seem reluctant to answer questions from outside the trade. Just bought a couple of pairs of belts for my RS engine and they were date stamped 2006 and are type 2 (Green). Would much prefer the later type 3 (Red) with the Kevlar layer. Andy
Chances are they will use the oem belts. In the unlikely event something goes wrong, they can then say they used the recommended belts and the extra cost will be passed on to you.
