The noise meter man came up to me when i was in the queue waiting to get out, "we've had problems with these lately" he said "just take it steady keep the revs down" !! I mean how are you supposed to keep the revs down in group 3 . Anyway never heard a thing after that all day. But then FE have 2 panigale's as hire bikes so what do they do
Gordon Bennett. Was it really 10 years ago? Shudder. I thought I ought to contribute something, even if I haven't found the time and money to get on a track for the last decade... Pity: I'd be better now. When you get the photos you think "brilliant! knee down!". Now they just look a bit embarrassing. I can see major body position improvements which I think I now incorporate. I was probably riding best at my last track day (later that year) but I launched the 916 into the gravel trap and didn't want any photos with tape and scratches all over it. Sob!
Ancient picture of me racing a Vincent at Cadwell in 1974. The Vin and I were both 23 years old at the time. The white leathers I got off Ray Pickrell when he stopped racing. There weren't any "trackdays" then, you just started entering races.
That was at Teeside Autodrome, not a particularly fast track but enough to trash a rear in a day... good fun tho. Daz.
Assen first time and first time on superbike after 16 years! lovely Assen! for those wanting to see more of the bike: http://www.flickr.com/photos/87217116@N06/sets/72157631541586181/ grtz Koen
Pete that is without doubt the finest photo of the lot. Proper old school that. good enough to put on the wall.
