Morning everyone, to my dismay i have just found a nail in my rear tyre, loads of wear left too! Gutted. Wanna fit a scrub tyre, local Ducati dealer won't fit a used tyre and a few other places don't have the tools. Anyone local to Birmingham recommend anywhere??
I suppose it could be plugged as its central but i don't know if i'd trust it 100%. I'd feel much safer fitting an undamaged tyre
Just get it plugged (professionally). It'll be fine. The plug isn't just a little bit of rubber that fills the hole, it's got a big flat 'mushroom' head on it that's sealed to the inner of the tyre, like these things: Repair plugs, also known as patch and plug combinations or sometimes mushrooms, are amongst the most popular tyre repair systems on the market. I know what you mean but a mate had his Diavel tyre plugged and rode down to Barcelona. Wheelhouse plug 1000's of tyres.
Easy enough to fit yourself with a couple of decent tyre leavers and a couple of plastic wheel rim protectors.
