Evening all Thinking about upgrading the calipers on my 848. I have the 1098s Ohlins forks on but just the standard 848 calipers. Have the chance to buy some mint 999r calipers for £220 including bolts and lines. The m4 monoblocks are a third more expensive. Is there a noticeable difference between them?
i dont know how far you have got with this or not, but your best starting point is SBS RS pads in the 848 calipers for about £50 a pair. unbelievably sharp stopping power!
TBH mate have already got some monoblocks sorted. I was looking through a couple of Spanish pages for 2nd hand stuff and found some mint (boxed) ones for about £260. So if all goes to plan, I should have them by the end of the month and they come with nearly new pads. Thanks a lot for the suggestion
when you get them, throw the pads out and still get the SBS RS pads available on ebay £50. i have these on the M4 monos on my 1198s...........these are road spec pads whose initial bite is simply awesome. i have tried many pads and compounds over many years and these are streets ahead! the stock brembo pads are rubbish
You'd be more than welcome, vince. Just bare in mind we are talking West Yorkshire! Where the weather changes more often than my mrs changes her mind! You'd be even more welcome if you came on an 848! Any news, did you get one?
Yes mate I pick it up on Saturday 848 Evo SE Corse, full system Termi already fitted Also booked in on the 26th of this month for suspension setup as I am only 11 n half stone. Then got a taster track day booked on 8th of April Its got a bigger tank range than the std 848 so hoping to get up country when weather improves suitably.
I think 18 ltrs mate, according to one write up 2.5 ltrs bigger than std and I think that was 15.5ltrs As soon as I have it back home I'll be getting some pics. Whats that all about ? is my 1199 to poor a taste for West Yorkshire
Ha ha thanks for that But will be venturing up country at some point will be sure to shout you when I do and EL T
