I thought I was getting Alzheimer's until I found out today, that every time I fell asleep my wife moves the bookmark forward 20 pages.
Spent the last 30-40 minutes laughing at the Random Picture Thread. Just what I needed after a crap day
Changed brake pads and discs on my car, designed a slate plinth for my turntable, drew up plans for a nice hifi rack, cooked a bloody good smoked salmon farfalle. Plans for next day off is servicing the 998....

Well yesterday I had a bunch of meetings in a place called Hatta in Dubai. Started at 8am and didn't finish till 6.15pm. My client then drove me an hour and a half back to Dubai so I could meet up with my brother and one of my best friends that live and work out here. Got to where my bro lives about 7.45pm. I had a quick shower then we all went out on the lash with wives and GF's. I didn't get back to his place till 5am after going to some dodgy party somewhere with a bunch of Saudi's and some Moroccan hookers. I kid you not! The hookers are at the back in the pic. My daft brother is the one in the dish dash to the right, after he'd talked the Saudi's into letting him try one on. I am now sat in the Emirates Business Class Lounge at the airport and they are playing the "call to prayer" over the tannoy. If they don't stop it soon I think I may just get myself arrested for blasphemy.
As always I'll be glad to get home now after almost 5 weeks of being on the road/air ways But before that I am meeting SWMBO in Manchester this evening, straight from landing, to go to the Manchester Opera House to see an Omid Djalili gig
After the trusty old megane got written off (shunt from the left side) on a roundabout - I bought this for the wife....she puts up with me and my bikes so I thought id try to get her the best car I could. The mother in law lives over the road and there's five in our family so it made sense (7 seater) and whenever we go anywhere together (relative etc etc) we go in 2 cars...I think it looks pretty cool, bloody goes like a rocket compared to the old megane...
I was fortunate enough to spend a little time today in St Paul's Cathedral for the Commemoration Service for Afghanistan. Top day with some top people. Yorkie
Been a busy week in the garden as the weather has been fine and not too cold. Moved a couple of blueberry bushes to a sunny spot as they have been in a shady place for almost a decade and don't seem to like it much. The 50+ year old quince tree finally snuffed it. I thought I'd leave the trunk and have a rose growing up it, but it now just looked too grim as the final couple of branches fell off. So I moved the rose, removed the trunk and got a mate round with a chainsaw to divvy it up for the fire (in a year's time or so). Planted a new quince tree to replace it. And I've now labelled my schnapps with home-produced sticky labels. Yes, I know they aren't all at the same height, but as they aren't all going to be displayed together on a supermarket shelf, I don't really care. I have 12 50cl bottles of kirsch and 15 50cl bottles of plum (but it needs keeping for a year - no hurry). Here are 4 of them.
