So SWMBO has mentioned a few times recently that she quite fancies a scooter so she can tootle around town and to the shops. So I'm considering buying her a new 50cc 4 stroke for her birthday in June. But I have no idea what's good, bad or indifferent for a newbie. And although she would be able to ride one on her car licence I'd also book her some lessons so that she can build up her confidence. Any ideas on what makes and models would be a good entry level scooter for her?
#2 son had a peugeot speed fighter , had no problems with it - it's what the kids have , easy to sell on when the time comes which may be a bonus
Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said that the company is not dismissing a potential scooter project in the future and uttered the magic worlds “a Ducati scooter is not blasphemy”
peugot speedfight go for the air cooled one as the liquid cooled one the water pump is plastic moulded and fails with age and last time I tried to source one they were not available
I used a Gilera Runner for 6 months over winter once and that was pretty good, it was a two stroke 50cc model though, I am not sure what the new 4 stroke ones are like. What about a Kymco RS 50 two stroke, £1399 new, my local motorcycle dealer sells them and he reckons they are quite good value and well made and he seems to sell a lot for commuting. 125cc, 50cc, 300cc and 400cc Scooters | 50cc Mopeds | Kymco UK
I had a Peugeot Speedflight and it was great, easy to ride and comfortable. Just get the CBT and off she goes which is great! But I wouldn't have a 50 because even in town found it to be too slow to accelerate in traffic and made it harder so with the same licence and not much more cost I would look at the 100 or 125
Honda vision 50, new model or else the Yamaha Neos 4 or Neos Easy. The new Honda forza 125 is a very smart 125cc scoot. Id nearly have one myself when I cant get the 1200 S10 through gridlocked rds ! :Banghead:
