Who Has Never Done And/or Would Like To Do A Novice Type Track Day Thing

  1. But the surface, grip and pressures etc allow that but with less risk. I've crashed on track, quite a few times I admit, but I know why on all of them. Mostly mistakes never too much speed.

  2. And I expect you learnt from those mistakes. Chizels bike is not one to be making mistakes on IMO.

  3. totally agree,, what is the point in going on a track if it is not to push it a bit, if someone just wants to tootle around then go for a cruise on the road,,,,, like chisel ( and others ) I would love to put my bike to the test on a track but seriously can not afford to " learn from my mistakes ".

  4. nail on head dude. what ever the reason for stacking it on track or however small the possibility of crashing if i take it easy is i cannot afford to repair and dont want to hurt my baby!! the damage could cost more than a cheap track bike. @Weeksy , knowing and understanding why i crashed (thru speed or other) would not give me the money to repair my bike!! i can see where all are coming from and everyone is making valid points but for me i wanna try it then get a cheap track bike if i get hooked

  5. get ya self a cheep 748 mate, set of track fairings and some sticky tyres and your good to go.

  6. that would be ideal! i dont have the money at the min and still have to spend some to finish the black n white one but i have been looking on ebay and the odd 748 track bike comes up for 1,5- 2 grand ish which i dont think unreasonable

  7. I wish I did lol. All I learned was, I'm rubbish lol.

  8. Don't get me wrong fella, I'm 100% in agreement with your logic in many ways, but I also think you're worrying too much at the same time. I just despair when people are put off what is IMO an amazing experience because they think they'll crash.

Mrs weeksy is on about her tenth TD now, still in novices and doesn't push in the way men do, but, she loves it! Proper Cheshire cat grin loves it. Of course, if she bins the bike, I pay ha ha.

  9. lol. that aint what its about thou is it? or you wouldnt still be doin it!

  10. +1 above, totally get the rationale and have been there, and knowing what I do now realise how wrong I was. In the same way you go oyt woth mates and have a built in restrictor, on track for the first time its even more so in place.

  11. i get ya bradders. but even just the loading and unloading of my bike into a van aint cool with me and i used to do that every weekend for 5 years with me motox bikes so i know the damage that can be done on that front!

  12. There are two types of people in this world , those that do trackdays and those that wish they could .
My advice , do it , have fun and prepare to book another as soon as you get home .

  13. There are another two types of people ,, those who are prepared to and can afford to smash their bikes up ,,,,,, and those who are / can not .

  14. There are two types of place to ride your bike, whatever that bike is!

One on the track where the surface is really smooth everyones going the same way, there are no junctions, no speed cameras, and even the route is repetitive so within reason you dont have to think about where you are going it repeats every 2 mins 30 seconds,

and Two the road, where everyone is out to get you, the surface is shoit, there are speed cameras, and the most important skill is required, observation with an ever changing view ahead even on your "favourite" road where do that two times running it won't be the same....

It amazes me that some think option one is far more dangerous than option two.

  15. Every time you ride your bike - anywhere, on road or track - there is a possibility you might smash it up. Anyone who cannot cope with that would be best advised to buy an armchair instead of a motorbike.
