The sf came with most of the bling , i fitted carbon cam covers on it , different bars .... brings you a little more up right One tooth down on front cog ... better wheelies and stuff Bloke who had it before me just threw Rizoma catalogue at it I think . There a good bike Strong engine , bit of wind blast but no worse than hyper , bit flighty on steering , sound great with the open clutch and Termis Worse point ( mine was not ohlins ) the suspension was quite harsh even on soft settings and sag dialled in , maybe it's the back lanes I ride , it got tireing after a while , I reckon spend money on suspension above everything else The S maybe better .... I don't know
Hey....what a collection....well when i bought the hyper at the time id always wanted and still wanted an sf....i did have a 1100s hyper before the evo and i always remember the suspension...the harder you pushed it the more cushioned it felt....so id love that again...
Yeah but...ive not the need, or want for an st like i have the sf...plus id say the sf looks miles better....i think we could agree on that!
Its a private seller but its at his mates bike shop....hes in portugal at the moment....ive just asked him the address...just waiting for him to reply...why do you ask....
Ah....well i think its spent its life in portugal...although it is a british bike...its on ebay at the moment....here it is... DUCATI STREETFIGHTER 1098 S FULL TERMIGNONI EXHAUST 5850 MILES IMMACULATE | eBay Theres one in craigs honda at the moment as well but it has a stock front pipe and more miles...plus i prefer the red...
All them bikes in that picture ..... I've sold the lot ... One after the other , just woke up in a strange mood and thought sod it .... Hehe Whose had the 1098 sf on here with the ohlins ? Are they harsh on the ride ..... maybe it's just me getting older and preferring more plush and comfort .... Like sitting on a comfy sofa tee hee Mmmmm .....just googling Goldwings .... mmmmm look at that saddle .... NOT like sittin on a razor blade mmmm
Just to chime in here, I know it's a ducati forum and all but the bmw is a stunning bike, so much so I bought one and I've owned both the Tuono and sf1098s All 3 are different engine configs so clearly there's a sound difference between them but I wouldn't call the beemer bad sounding at all, quite the opposite really as for a L4 it's got a great burble and it pops and bangs on the overrun. Both the Tuono and SF rides are harsh in comparison to the beemer, you 'could' say more 'sporty feeling' but that's not really the case as I'd probably be faster on the BM truth be told The Tuono V4 is an epic engine but honestly the beemer has so much torque, even more useful & usable torque than the SF. You can roll along at 29mph through a speed camera in 5th (maybe 6th) without the engine complaining and then wind it on to 130+ (apparently officer) in the blink of an eye. Looks are subjective on all these bikes, personally a nicely done (no gold trinkets) SF looks awesome, but it's a fairly antiquated engine now and even the tc and other electronics are very early design. The Tuono is no looker and I very nearly bought a 2nd abs 2014 just before giving the beemer another day out, this time I literally took them both out on the same day (rode one demo bike to the other dealers and split the day in half). Whilst I love the Tuono I couldn't help but think it was in need of a refresh and the beemer was just easier, telepathic in terms of handling and then the fit and finish was a country mile ahead Everybody has opinions and it's your money, what I will say is that most fall in love with the Tuono due to the v4, most go with the SF due to appeal of owning a ducati and buying in to the brand, just don't discount the beemer based on opinions you'll read on forums as many haven't ridden one for a decent amount of time and I honestly think if you do (and give it some) it's very hard to argue against it. Christ even the looks are winning me over now I've been doing some modifications that I've been seeing on the German forum

Why avoid something that's so good just because others will say it lacks passion and soul? Thats just gumph really. passion + soul = bollocks and flaws that are wrapped up in an easier to swallow terminology I love Ducatis but unfortunately they have nothing for me at the moment, maybe when they release a Pani SF i might consider it but it'd have to be £13k and no more because no matter what people might 'think' it'd have its work cut out to match any of the current 3, 1299 engine or not The Monster 1200 is too small and a little out of its depth compared to the S1kr, 1290 KTM and Tuono. The Streetfighter is no more and not something i can be arsed with 2nd hand nowadays what with belts and just making do with 'character' flaws. I'm fairly confident that the beemer is by far the easiest to ride and also faster than most due to the layout, the Tuono you're up very high and it feels tall tipping in to corners, the beemer is flatter and roomy so within the blink of an eye your knee on the deck letting the suspension and tc do its thing. The KTM is superb but honestly i just don't like the finish, still felt a bit cheap what with the switch gear and all and at £14k its a lot to ask of something thats not even got a quickshifter or dynamic suspension.
A Pani SF naked would have exactly the same flaws that the S1000R does. (though the new 1299 sounds more like it) It makes its power and torque too high up in its rev range to be made maximum use of in an unfaired bike. In fact the new BMW liquid cooled boxer engine would be better IMO. The 1200 Monster is too civilised for me and it isn't in the same league as any of the supernakeds, it is true, but it makes significantly more torque and makes it much sooner - and therefore more usably - than the S1000R. It is untrue to say that the S1000R makes more torque than the Ducatis. The Monster and the SF make more torque than the BMW and they make it lower down the rev range. In fact the torque of the 1200 Monster shown here looks very like that of Comfysofa's Hyper, just more of it.
Well. Sitting in riders car park now waiting for the mot to be done...a tuono is not happening...I've got rsv4 already. Don't want another v4....not that there's anything wrong with mine...it brilliant but one is enough!....while I'm still thinking about the s1000r I have enjoyed ducati ownership.....love the dry clutch, love the noise but at the same time attracted to the newness and electronics of the beemer....arggghhhh....this is tough...!
I would have done if it wasn't for the £14K bit (or is it 15?) and the bloody annoying electronics. Not sure MK1 of any brand new model is the one to rush out and buy. How about a KTM 1290 Supermoto. That'll be nice...
