999 Dome Nuts

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Old rider, Mar 17, 2015.

  1. Would anybody happen to know the size of the dome nuts at the front of the tank??

I want to replace mine with stainless...

  2. Ok, have measured, as no one seems to know off the top of their heads - M6.

Have ordered some but have to have 10! Cost was £1.99 inc p&p, from A bolt

  3. Try ''D.Middleton stainless'',not sure how to post a link but will show on google, excellent quality and very reasonable prices and quick turnaround.

  4. Got the nuts from Abolt next day.
Nicely finished already but polished them up to a mirror finish by screwing the nut onto an M6 bolt and sticking that bolt in the chuck of a drill. Spin it up in a cloth with some metal polish dabbed onto it and instant bling...

Peak seems better for getting a mirror finish than either Solvol or Autoglym btw.

  5. True, Middletons do excellent quality products and quick service. Unfortunately their website is very poorly set up and hard to use. I ordered a long list of nuts, bolts and screws from them; when they arrived the quality was good, but the whole lot were mixed together in a bag (not separated into types of items) and there was no packing list. So a patchy picture - good in some ways but a bit of a pain in others.

  6. I usually use custom fasteners , their stuff is well packaged and well finished .
