Guys, I was looking about during last summer for a replacement system for my 999, I had a Storm system on it which i wasn't getting on with. I tried looking up the usual suspects, even going as far as ringing Akra to see if they had any new old stock systems anywhere (they didn't). I was struggling to get a system for the 999. I found a small company on the internet called DesmoPerformanceParts. This place has been doing great things in the Monster owners circles, so i decided to give them a go. Sadly the standard 'lunchbox' style can wasn't an option at the time, but a pair of stubby cans seemed good. So Full Ti system with carbon cans were had at a very good price. They took longer than anticipated but given it was the end of the riding season it wasn't such a problem, add to that the artizan nature of the welding then time taken wasn't too bad. It looks wonderful, and sounds fantastic. Thanks very much to Max who gave me a hand doing a bracket for the numberplate/lights (as it's a track system). I'm off to lick them again.... The rearsets are DPP as well and very nice they are too
What was wrong with the storm exhaust? Looking forward to seeing it with the rear cowl on...see how it looks...
The Storm exhaust was a nightmare with the light/numberplate mount. Stuff just kept falling off it. 4 number plates is my limit! Around £1500 is what it cost. I'll get some pics at the weekend of it complete, new clutch, front pads and rearsets are done, just gotta get a lever sorted out then panel and it's back together! Here's hoping a weekend of good weather is on the way
Yup. Ducati did offer a discount to replace with original, but the 'discount' made it the same as a stronger aftermarket one plus they wanted a dealer to fit it at my cost. Bollocks to that.
Hi Chris, glad I could help you I'll put up some of this pictures on the website if you don't mind. We have a number of new products coming up in the next few weeks on the website including aluminium frames (!) and subrframes, brakes, very advanced electronic stuff for road and track so keep an eye on it
Hi Max, please feel free to use the pics And for those that asked what it looks like with the bodywork on, voila! (bear in mind also my seat/tank are as far forwards as they can go, so pull the seat back 20mm and cover more of the cans)
