they make the front wider, offer slightly more hand protection. not sure why they are not moulded in as standard. definately look better on.
I Have bought a New set of Fleabay, Bit of a Impulse buy, but my concern is they look like they will scratch the main fairing when fitted - cannot even find any pics of a bike fitted with them
It looks like they have moulded them in as standard on the 1299 anyhow. I removed and blanked off my mirrors last night and I think I'm going to stick the wind deflectors on tonight to see how they look.
Idea I just had - I have a Track fairing nose cone at home - I will dry fit them to that before making the jump and if it all looks like It wont scratch then I will fit these on the bike
Please give me the track fairing nose cone, it's the one main body part I dont have spares for still!!
Hmmm - Send me your Email on PM and I will get some pics for you tonight when I get hj Thanks for the Pics, whats the procedure in fitting them - I notice there is 2 holes on either side that do not align with the fairing bolts, are these just manufacture holes or do you need to drill etc
Nose cone off, clip on the bits then refit. No drilling needed Sorry I lied.. You don't need to remove the nose cone, just the side panels
Another As Mr C says, they just clip on. The black bits are just matt black wrap. It's quite easy and cheap to do, cost about a fiver.
Send me PM With your email and I will take some pics later - may be interested in selling if the deal is right
these 2 pics show difference, I like the wide wsb style the deflectors allow. they will dull the paint where they contact, but dont take them off. dont use the self tappers on them either, they are not needed.
You get the extensions included in the boxes of bits they sell you with the bike. My opinion is that it spoils the lines of the bike and gives it Munchkin cheeks. Even at over 180 I don't get issues with the wind on my pinkies, so it is probably all down to personal taste... in my case, I'm leaving them off.
Oh, as regards the screen, I found a German Company that made a bottom-tint that leaves the main screen clear but covers the lower part where the back of the clocks et al are visible and graduates as it goes up. The piccy on the left just about shows what it looks like.
They transform the look of the bike. I like it But I like how slim they are at the front as standard too. It'd be win/win for me if a had a panigale
