Sorry everybody, I'm here again to ask another daft question. Having seen the Hypermotard I was after slip through my fingers I am back on the NEW Panigale trail again. Been offered exceptional PCP deals on both 899 and 1299 (not S) new. Pretty damn certain I will be getting one or t'other but given it is quite an investment thought I would garner some opinions off you lads and lasses. 899 is cheaper monthly obviously but do I go for the 1299 or 899?? Your thoughts please. (apologies if this has been asked before).
Get the big full fat one. They are both more than you need, so the bigger one is probably more fun in a sort of completely outrageous, unnecessary sort of way. You can't beat low down stomp and I bet the 1299 has a lot more of it.
If you want mid range grunt and seat of your pants excitement buy the 1299 or a better steal get a decent deal on an 1199 plenty around still new and unregistered and dealers desperate to get rid of em I have seen the 1199s New for 18,500 K and if your willing to barter bet they will drop it down a bit more.
Real world yes. Yes I want it to go like fuck but I think they probably both can can't they, current sports bike is a ZX10R which will probably be turned into a track bike. Plenty of decent 1199S out there but deal on new 1299 is around same money. So I think that's what ill be going for.
You can always make a 1299 feel like an 899 by putting it in wet mode...but you can't make an 899 go like a 1299 in race or sport mode. I doubt you would be disappointed by either so i would guess it comes down to money in the end. If you can afford the 1299 go for that.
I'm torn between the 1199S and the 1299, I've had the 1199 for two years and love it, but now the Ducati warranty has run out it's time to get new again. I don't use all the power all the time, but there's nothing quite like having it there when you want to play! I'd say have a test on the 12 and an 11 and go from there. I had a ZX10R before this, and if I had got an 899 I reckon I'd be looking for more power from the get go! Just my opinion though
is the suspension on the S just electrically adjustable or is it semi active like an HP4? (Skyhook on the Multi?)
Id have the 1299, but id be using it on track too, not just road. Get the most fun out of it ! The midrange looks like endless fun !
