  2. As I said, Muppet lol.

Bought it, he couldn't claim the money paid again, same issue. So now I have to wait a week before it gets back to my PayPal account.

  3. So, this eBay feedback system ...

You can give negative feedback for a bad seller but you then run the risk of receiving negative feedback in return.
So people don't give negative feedback in order that they preserve their own feedback score.
So Gremlyng couldn't see negative feedback for the seller that would have been given to him by a previous customer, for that reason. Uh-huh.

And people are making purchasing decisions based upon this feedback system?

    Oh my. Fabulous.

  4. This cover came up for sale last week and i sent him an offer he counter offered at £30 so I clicked on the link to accept and he had removed the item!

Days later it re-appeared and I figured he had taken it down in error so I placed another offer for £30 then I noticed someone else had been making offers so i figured for the sake of £4 more I'd use the buy it now.

Then I could see that the item in my purchase history had an egg timer on the 'paid' section and when I hoverd over it it said payment unclaimed. So I got his mobile number from eBay and got in touch. It turns out that the email account he had associated with eBay was different to his Paypal email address! I cancelled the paypal transaction and he sent me a new paypal invoice referncing the item number etc... I paid and then it turned up today!

I've always treated people the way I'd like to be treated and so far in 40 years it's proved to work, then you find some arsehole with no principles or common decency that catches you out. It makes me bloody evil!

The worst thing is what he has done is very clear, it is very clear that he described the item in order to sell it when he knew full well that he was actually selling another brand and that it was second hand!

Imagine buying something brand new only to find that when it arrives it's a different make and is in fact second hand!

  5. What a complete tosser of a seller! I hope he has a slow and painful death some day! lol

  6. Well he's still at a healthy 100%
Didn't eBay have a policy to protect buyers from negative feedback after leaving a negative one for the seller?

  7. I couldn't leave feedback until today. Done now.

  8. Yep essentially if you have hell with a seller and you leave them negative feedback 9 times out of 10 they will leave you negative feedback in retaliation and out of spite. So in this situation regardless of outcome I won't be able to leave him negative feedback because I don't want my 100% feedback being reduced! It's a loose, loose situation really! Very unfair!

eBay is such a double edged sword in many ways.

  9. Double edged sword?

Sounds like a crock of shit to me ... but that's only an opinion. YMMV, as ever!

  10. I just saw the feedback you left him, I genuingly hope he doesn't retaliate and damage your feedback. The only way to resolve that is for both you and the seller to agree to remove it at a later stage. He strikes me as the type of arsehole that has no principles or morals.

  11. Double edged sword - For every positive there is a negative. I guess until you experience the hassle you wouldn't appreciate the frustration.

  12. I'm a big boy, I'll be fine lol.

  13. Just to be clear - I think eBay sounds like a crock, not anything you have posted! You sound fairly reasonable to me!

  14. You got off lightly because if you had managed to pay the arsehole you would have been in my position today where I opened the box to find a cover that wasn't at all as he described it! I'm beginning to wonder if he just used a library picture and then proceeded to pinch the cover of some poor buggers bike in London!

  15. Thanks ;-)

  16. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers.

  17. Sellers cant give paying buyers bad feed back . It dont work like that . Sellers can give none payers bad feed back . Buyers can do what they want .

    Bugger beaten to it .

  18. I wasn't trying to patronise you - For me having negative feedback would be a kick in the teeth as I often sell things many buyers see feedback as a way of reassurance, it can often finalise a sale.

  19. Thats good to know! a good few years back I had a situation with a pair of Nike trianers where they had sold me bad copies but used a library picture. I got my money back eventually but after I left bad feedback at that time they were able to retaliate and I ended up with bad feedback, that was on my other eBay account.

  20. Ah, things are looking slightly more sensible ...
