Has anyone come across what I can only describe as a 'front hugger' for an 1199 ? I would like to fit something to catch the stones, crap and weather before it hits the radiator... mesh rad-guards just catch the big bits.
There was something called the fender extender. As it says, it just added 4-6 inches to the back of your original front guard. Can't say i've looked for a Panigale one but that might be the type of thing your after I think.
Yes, there are "Fenda Extenda" products (I think the name may be used by Pyramid Plastics) but you might have trouble tracking one down for the Ducati. They tend to be marketed more for street/touring bikes. They are cheap, although expensive for what they are (just the rest of the front mudguard that the maufacturer did not bother to design properly!), and the fitting process is not ideal. I bought one for my Suzuki, and it works just fine, but came with, as far as I can remember, some sticky pads and self tapping screws (requires small holes to be drilled at rear of front mudguard, with great care. If you put a bit of effort into fitting (I painted the screw heads to match the mudguard) the result looks fine.
Late reply, but.......... yes, of course I bought it for it's looks ! But........ looks half finished in that area. Plus radiators are blooming expensive to replace when they rot out through being pebble-dashed, and no, mesh grills don't stop everything, only air-flow. A tyre-hugging curve of carbon would enhance rather than spoil the front end and do the job that needs to be done at the same time. Does nobody remember when you used to be nicked by the Police for riding your bike without mudguards (pushbike, that is) ? Or is it only me ?:Bookworm:
