Ohlins Shock On Ss Ie Are Fakes?

  1. Local mechanic with 3 Ducatis swears this shock was actually made by Sachs. Anyone got an opinion or info on this?

  2. Sachs is and has been a partner with Ducati as are Showa and Ohlins. Andy

  3. I mean the ohlins shock was built by Sachs for ohlins. It is a Sachs shock with an ohlins case and sticker.

  5. I agree with that. It is very unlikely that Yamaha who own Ohlins would outsource assembly to a competitor. It is not unknown that people add stickers to disguise a component. Andy

  6. Quite. Seems bizarre. But he knows more than me so here I am asking, looking at my ohlins shock with a newfound bit of uncertainty

  8. Been around Ducatis far less than many others, just 15 years or so, and have never heard anyone say this before.
