So it finally arrived. A fitting garage mate for my 1098R Bayliss. First impression (unridden as yet). By eck its loud, even with road legal cans. Neighbours will love me on my daily commute at 06.15. Niggles - they cover the whole bike in satin finish carbon, then put gloss carbon on the ends of the pipes. Annoying Swing arm pivot is set to -4 on arrival, yet handbook says it should be at zero position (yet as per usual ducati manual quality, then shows a pic of the pivot in pos 4 ). Would be grateful if any new owners can chime in with how their's arrives.
Oh I hate it when they mix matt and gloss carbon, it just makes the bike look completey shit! Only joking, nice one, fantastic bike!
That's lovely Glen, Is that from Gary, he said he had sold one. I was in looking at Ian's 'S' yesterday, they have fitted the full Akra to his.
No mate, I live in Sweden now. First new toy since I moved over, and first bike from any other dealer since '93. It's been a bit of a learning curve over here for sure :Banghead:
Didn't realise you actually lived there, I thought that you were just working over there and commuting ! Are bikes not silly prices over there, everything else is so I've heard.
Actually cheaper with the current exch rates. Just over £26k for this here. Insurance is another story altogether though. They really have ya pants down over here with that. Its like being 18 and having no riding experience again.
Nice one Glen , now a proper comparison between a 1098R and a Pani R , let us all know how you get on .
Awesome bike but I really wish they had come up with a nicer wheel design than those chicken feet, like they changed when they moved from the 1098 to 1198.
Very very nice Glen, Saw one at EICMA last year and loved the number boards. Never was a fan of the white stripes on the '14 model. Just wish mine was closer to completion. All this waiting is doing my head in!
I dunno mate. I would imagine the main body must be nigh on the same, but might get stiffed for a few consumables or the odd variation further up the mileage.
From memory the SL is also set at 4 too Glen. I'm told thats what Ducati have set them at as standard, but I could be wrong. Anyway Enjoy.
