  2. I find it encouraging that 60% of forum members have either a bike or car, as a main vehicle, that is older than 10 years old.
This would seem to give the lie to the idea that we are all slavish consumers, or that Ducati owners are hugely well-heeled people who can afford a constant supply of new vehicles.
Nothing wrong with having younger vehicles, of course and a few years ago, both my car and bike would have been younger than 10. But I find it cool that people keep their vehicles because they love them, or that they are keeping perhaps an older car to subsidise a passion for a great bike.
Anyway, it's all rather better than I thought it might be.
60 votes might not be statistically that significant, but there is no real reason to suppose that it is not indicative of reality.

  3. Work = 2012 Volvo V60 100k miles. 5 pot engine runs sweet. 700 mile range (much better economy than Multi)
Play = 2010 Multistrada 1200 20K miles runs too well to change. 140 mile range.

  4. I'm cool :Wideyed:

  11. My lawnmower (ride-on) was second hand ten years ago and still going strong.
If my car was as old as my wife, it would be massively valuable by now.

  12. The question, when was the lawnmower manufactured?

  13. It's probably not much over 12 years old. Its previous owner was a lawnmower fetishist who changes them often - he has to have the latest thing. I'd say he was an idiot, but this might not be the best forum to express this view.

  14. You bought a 2 year old ride on, without warranty?

    Best lawnmowers are John Deere

  15. I think mine is a John Deere. It's called a Sabre which is meant to be a sub-brand of John Deere. Don't think it had much in the way of warranty, but don't remember. It's hasn't gone wrong in 10 years, so the warranty is a bit beside the point.

It's pretty bloody simple. What could go wrong? It's a 10 bhp 4-stroke single.

  16. What could wrong? Everything! Does it cut grass?
