I am feeling pretty cheerful for no particularly good reason today, other than the sun is shining, it is warm and very spring-like. There is a sort of roof garden here at work which contains a couple of small trees in raised beds. At lunchtime, I am going to plant some potatoes I have left over in it. I will also put in radishes, tomatoes and cucumber in due course (might do the radishes today too). This will add some extra interest at work, and supply some food for my colleagues' lunches. It's a bit stupid to have patches of earth filling with weeds when they could be filling with veggies - or flowers, even.
Cheers all... The sun is out,the sky is blue, the Beemer goes for MOT at 12.30 so I've got a little ride-out on the cards....lifes not all bad,by any means...
Took my 2 day old Octavia VRS alloy to be repaired ! Had a BMW for 2 years never kerbed a wheel, two poxy days with the new car and I have demolished half the rim ! That's £100 down the drain.
I might be safer with one of them Chris. Why wheel manufacturers make wheels that stick out past the edge of the tyre is beyond me !
unlucky Ian - it won't make you feel any better but I wrote off a rare Cromodora at Lightwater roundabout some 30 years ago on a kerb (it's still there and has been struck many times since). It was just getting dark and someone had come off the M3 and had joined the roundabout 'forcibly' making me take the right hand lane as I left the roundabout toward Bracknell. The collision took out a brand new P6 as well as the wheel. It didn't rapidly deflate but gave me a splitting headache. Some may have taken off in pursuit but accepted that it was 'just one of those things' and even at a much younger age I had already realised that the stress of submitting evidence and trying to prove what had happened just wasn't worth it and carried a 90% fail rate.
I picked up several large piles of cat shit from the garden this evening. I would imagine and hope that you're pick up was infinitely much more pleasurable than mine. Annoying creatures, might have to invest in some suitable discouragement -.357 magnum do the trick?
Today I had my aorta scanned ultrasonically. Good news - I don't have an aortic aneurysm, apparently.
Good thing to have checked Peter. My father died from a ruptured aortic aneurysm.Quite a common cause of death in men apparently.
