1199 1299 Low Rev Stalling

  1. First off, I am absolutely loving the bike, everything about it!
I am at the early stages of the run in, and the bike has stalled a few times pulling away. It's almost like there is a hole in the power at low revs.
My 1199 was fine in this respect, I am just wondering if anyone else with the 12 also found this, and did it clear with a few miles in it?
    Best regards
    Rob

  2. My R died on the over run into roundabouts and junctions 2 or 3 times in the first couple of hundred miles, usually within the first 5 mins riding so still a cool engine. Been ok since, and they didnt find any fault codes or tps calibration errors at the first service.

As an addition, I would say there is a hell of a lot of throttle free play, which I asked to be removed, but apparently there aint no adjustment. Its a pain when you prefer minimal cable slack and set all of your previous bikes up accordingly.

  3. Ok, thanks for that, but sounds slightly different to what mine is doing.
I adjusted the clutch lever after a few miles because the bight point was too close to the grip, I prefer it much further out, I think I'll check the clutch switch in case I have caused an issue there.

  4. No probs with mine it's a belter , when you have it on the bite keep the revs a little higher than you have been engine spins up real quick

  5. It does spin up bloody quick lol, I can't believe how quickly the revs drop when you blip the throttle as well!! It's fab!!

  6. :upyeah::upyeah:Nearly 1'000 miles on now , so I'm given it the BEANS , fck me it's fast , 5th on full chat hitting the limiter

  7. I had the stupid amount of throttle free play taken out buy the dealer, they just adjusted the fully closed and fully open position via the ecu,no more hesitation when coming off a fully closed throttle.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. Hmm, ok, cheers. He didnt seem to think much could be done, and the 1299 forum seems to be full of heath robinson rigs to cure it, but nothing official.
May drop ducati a line and ask them if they can forward info sheet to the dealer.

  9. Just order an 1199r flywheel for my 1199s and it's the same part no as the 1299 so that could be the issue

  10. Had the same issue myself. Hasn't happened since the first service tho so not sure if something was tweaked. Like everyone else... Loving it!

  11. I've also noticed the auto blipper doesn't blip sometimes? Could be tied in with the dead zone in the throttle as simmytt mentioned??

  12. What dead zone ? If you are riding your bike on low revs ( just pissin about ) of course the blipper may not work , ride n use the engine properly an you shouldn't have any probs , I haven't 1450 miles on it now

  13. I clutch shift at low revs round town etc, and clutchless when out in the open using upto 6k (ish) and the blipper only blips 50% of the time on down shift. Waiting for the dealer to get back to me.

  14. This issue was also prevalent on the 1199 too. I am tempted to think there is either an ignition interupt issue (clutchless gearchange trigger sticking or being inadvertantly triggered by one's foot), or a 'hole' in the fuel map. When I was a bit younger and doing such matters, we got our software boffins to put the low engine-speed injection mapping in hexidecimal..... more fractions per segment. This cured small throttle opening functionality. Of course what most of us do is to ride around the feature by keeping the revs up, clutch slipping and free-wheeling !

  15. I've also asked my dealer about raking out the throttle free play with same response as 990Glen

@simmytt which dealer did your adjustment ?
