Well first impressions, wow what a difference! Smooth, noticeably more powerful and extremely comfortable. Only road it briefly back from the dealer but out on it tomorrow so will update tomorrow evening. How do we add photos to this forum?
It may be just me, but I like the rough arsed nature of my 10 plate, single sparked engine delivery, but then it's only a toy, not a daily? Seems the drive by Ducati, has been to iron out that characteristic and get a smooth delivery. From the recent reports, the engine seems to have morphed into one from a Honda SP2, which I had from 05 to 07, when I switched to a 1098 and on which you had to remind yourself that it was a twin, so smooooth was the delivery? Trying to convince meself I don't want a demo ride!
I agree with you with rough arsed natured Desmo feel. I have owned ds 1000 Multi with old school feel and one spark 1200 with rattle and shake low end hassle. I have allways loved that feel Duce makes. You feel that its alive telling you to come on come on make me goooo. That new dvt has lost a little bit of that roughness but it still has that high end rush that makes you piss honey [emoji51][emoji91][emoji91][emoji91]
Had a good look round mine and their s demo. Told them how much I liked the colour screen. Ducati have told my dealers that they will be offering the colour Bluetooth screen as an option on the standard model. This can be fitted at any time. No prices yet though. Surprised how low the seat was. I'm 5'10 and could get both feet flat. They said it can go up an inch though. Roll on next Saturday
Good evening multi drivers i would have one question, Is it normal Ducati that the tft display vibrates quite much ? i will check tommorow rpm range when it vibrates..
My wife joined me on a trip today. She quite liked her seat. In fact back seat has not chanced at all. She liked the previous model seat too. P.s last time it took 5.46 l/ 100km. So It would be around 350 km / tank.
Little concern is that 1000 km oil chance is booked 6.5.2015 and I have 850 km in the clock already. My dealer said that you could drive at least 1400 km and It would not be a problem. Will It affect the 2 year carantie if I ride 2000km before first oil chance? I have one week holyday next week and I would like to ride a lot with my new toy.[emoji1]
Should be in the next two weeks as the customer bikes usually follow a week after the demo. But they have yet to be invoiced. I just realised that the ones available are the base model. I suppose the S is yet to make an appearance.
My full system also failed after two years, the manifold section cracked just under the joint to the front cylinder. Fortunatly they are replacing under warranty.
My dealer said they are coming June but I see some uk lot getting earlier what is the trick ? Is it S model ? Or are we going to wait for a S model ?
In the one I tested the TFT was vibrating but randomly, looked a bit bad when such a high end display shakes like this. But hey after all it's an Italian product, even Ferraris have stupid bugs and they cost a fortune :Nailbiting:
1000 km driving with new DVT behind. First oil change tomorrow. Learning to love the bike more everyday. So nice to drive fast on curvey country roads. City driving is so easy, much better than 2011 model. Basic model suspension is pretty easy to adjust. I have but more tight settings in front suspension and use back quick setting roll daily. I have ridden on gravel roads with ease. Learning to like more and more the engine. It is smooth and responsive. Sport mode is my favourite on every road. No scary moments anywhere. Clutch is easy to use and gear box is smooth. Only 6th gear is like previos model little bit harder to kick in.Brakes are wonderfull. Rear brake is usable and works ok. wind protection is fine some buffering to helmet but not bad. Lcd screen fine for me. No fancy colours but you find everything you need pretty easily. Nothing bad to say about new Pirelli tyres. They work fine. Not much wear of so far. I must dry the bike on track too this summer. Duce DVT rocks for me.[emoji1]
Finally, I got my bike today after 4 weeks of registration problems (normal stuff) in Belgium. But what a big difference with my Hyperstrada! More comfort, room, ...... POWER.
