  1. Eek, that's another thing i am crap at - paying attention to the fuel gauge.
A garage break is a good chance to take a quick rest on the ol' wrists and hear the lovely exhaust in the garage forecourt accoustic dream theatre! :D

nah, bike has a checkover yet to be done. It is in a HUGE queue as they are completely snowed under whcih makes sense and every tom, dick and harriet seems to be going out on their bikes and getting them ready. :Cigar:

  2. 120 miles! My warning light comes on around 80!

  3. 120, 80 you're just not trying hard enough, get em out of wet lettuce mode :D

  4. Fook me, sounds like the fuel consumption is worse than my CBR600 which I rag to death.

  5. I made an error, it was 100 miles with the fuel light on for 5 miles, seems like there is plenty of fuel still sloshing around, that wasn't hanging about but filled to the brim.
80 is unnatural, none of my Ducs have been as bad as that.

  6. mine is. 80 about right

  7. My warning light comes on anywhere between 80-100 miles when it was being run in I was seeing 120 lol
Guess we will be seeing you around Boxhill in the near future then

  8. (OP = happy with purchase) + unhelpful opinion =

  9. Only had the bike one day and made 3 fuels tops... it ain't good :)

Tank only took about £11.00 of high octane (121.6p IIRC)

On my last run I was panicking as the fuel light was on, I was lost-ish and that funky counting up fuel think bottom left was donig its thing.. what is that all about...

  10. As per manual, there is 5 litres in reserve, 13 litres when light comes on. It's a 18l tank. I was worried too when bike was new. You got about 30 miles safe riding before starting to worry. During running in, my 899 was showing 45mpg ish in sport mode, after running in this dropped to 40 ish. Not too bad for a 898cc bike.

  11. This is the crack mate, you get around 100 miles from a full tank to fuel light coming on.
Tank is 17litres of which approx 4 ltrs is reserve.

I rode mine to Swafham 140 miles Mainly motorway last 50 miles was A & B roads steady 80/85mph and the fuel ligt just came on as I hit the town, coming home I opened her up a bit had to stop at 90 miles to get more fuel as light had come on.
When fuel light comes on you are looking at putting approx 13ltrs in to fill right up.
I always reset the Trip A meter just in case fuel light packs up, it is a Ducati after all :)

  12. Ah, thanks guys. So i need not panic when the light comes on.. ha.
So, what does that counter-upper actually go up to in the bottom left?

Ha, good tip about the tripometer!

  13. The counter will clock up miles continuously until you refuel or run out !

  14. 1199 80 miles for me usually planned my route via petrol stations pain in the arse

  15. Umm, what is the point of that? weird.

  16. ha, you know when things are bad when you need to plan petrol stations for even a smallish run !! :D

  17. Fast road on the 11 normally about mid 90's when light on , you would get another 30 when nursing it , deliberately ran it dry before 145

  18. I am still struggling over how bad the economy is..
Of course, leaving it in RACE might not help.
I reckon I got less than 80 miles before the ight came on, nearer 70, but I was ragging it.

My other bike is a Honda PCX 125 scooter and it does 120 MPG so it's a bit of a shock!

  19. Are you filling the bike whilst sat on it or is it on the side stand?

  20. ha, side stand. Bloody hell.. yeah, that would make a difference.
I have seen anybody do it whilst sitting on it - umm. Logical.
