Selling my GT1000 due to lack of use, started working away from home almost the same time I bought it so its had most of its life sat in my dry garage on an optimate. Very low miles, 3692, last service was at Ducati Leeds where all the fluids and belts were done at ~1600 miles. Currently on a SORN but I will get a new MOT on prior to sale. Standard apart from official Ducati rack, fitted from new, a world of carbon Hugger and some colour matched grips. Some mild paint flaking from engine cover and some spokes have a bit of surface corrosion, but as you can see in really nice condition. Looking for £6500ono
Started working away again so it looks like its set for no use again this year. Not really that interested in dealing with the droves of stupid questions and time wasters on the big selling sites so if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer it will be considered. Other than that its staying in the garage.
Dragging up an old thread, sorry. I didnt really put much effort into selling this last year but will be advertising it on all the main sites shortly. Its not turned a wheel since this advert due to work commitments but it has been stored on an optimate and periodically turned over. Going to have the oil changed and get an MOT for the sale.

Question: what are these things actually like to ride? Are they great fun or a pain? Are they quick, or as slow as they look (sort of 70s slow). Any good in traffic? They look like quite a cool town bike.
Not that iv ridden it much recently but they are good fun, nice and comfy too with an upright riding position which gives excellent visibility making it perfect around town. Not fast like a sportsbike but not slow, loads of torque makes them feel quick and decent geometry and brakes adds to the fun. Not for the introvert, wherever you park it when you get back it will have people stood around wanting to ask questions.
Good question. Yeah, they do look pretty good. They certainly sell for a premium but is that due to rarity ?
Agree with XUP. They can also be improved without spending a fortune. Mine has lighter wheels (Marchesini 5-spoke) & HyperPro progressive springs, just one of several options for improving turning & ride. Mine also has a DP flyscreen which adds a small amount of protection, but other/larger screens are available. They also sound good with the Termignoni kit fitted (mine has). I find the GT1000 to be very comfortable whilst still providing fun. That's just my experience from owning one for 6 years.
I am not being deliberately provocative but isn't that a bit close to Scrambler money. It could be argued that the older, simpler engine has more appeal but ..........
Its just based on what they seem to be fetching (actually a bit less than iv seen some go for)? Guess you pays your money, you make your choices?
About average price for a GT1K Personally think the scrambler is underpowered and looks like a kiddies bike. There's 2 sport classics on eBay atm with the same engine, forks, nigh on the same frame etc. listed at £12k each. Makes this look a bargain
