Why don't you buy her a huge, gratuitous bunch of flowers? This never fails to spread delight way in excess of the purchase price. I'm a big flower-buyer, me.
Spent the afternoon at hospital and finally god the surgeon to make a decision about my leg. He is going to operate again and hopefully get it right this time, only taken 17 months to get to this point
Went to hospital to get results from my sleep tests and.....they can't find the test! An hour later and they still can't find it so I'm going to have to wait for another appointment to get results No wonder the hospital is in special measures :Banghead:
At docs yesterday, 9.30am appointment with nurses, arrived 9.20am, taken straightaway, blood taken, ctg thingy scan, sample tube left, out again in half an hour. Letter arrived, next appointment next week, for next phase. Nurse said her husband had bikes and talked about the NW200 while I got stabbed in the arm. Can't complain, good GP's.
Today,I took,(and passed),my IAM test.My examiner was a very nice Cambridgeshire policeman, who said some very complimentary things about my riding, and only picked me up on a couple of,(he described as minor),points. I've never had any training on how to ride a bike, apart from a couple of days at enduro school, and it's all been a bit of an eye opener...I always thought the IAM was a bit,"Life in the correct lane",but it's been a real hoot so far, haven't had so much fun in years. It's that bloody BikeSafe coppers fault I got into this: He said I was safe/competent enough but,"everyone benefits from training",and that people should take pride in the way they ride.(Actually,I'm grateful to him...funny how just a couple of casual comments altered my mindset though). I think I'm a much better rider than I was before: certainly smoother, probably faster, definitely more confident...I had to rein myself in on the way home as there was an awful lot of adrenaline in me.... You can probably tell I'm feeling chuffed to bits...:Cigar:
Whipped the rear wheel out of the Duke to get the rear tyre fitted tomorrow, then mot for it and the CBR as soon as I'm back from Spain. Can't wait to take her out!
I drove to Portsmouth. A drive that should have been five hours actually took seven Went for a curry in port Solent yesterday evening with friends then for some drinks after that
