It certainly is Bettes. Had a few friends say that I was mad to mention the spill in the advert, but it's not in my nature to be anything other than 100% up-front with these things. Seems honesty is paying off.
Tough story, hope things sort themselves out soon, had a major spill 25 years ago, took a while to recover...good luck with everything...
feel for you , hope you mend quick its odd how a front end tuck while upright at slow speed often does more damage to you then the bike if the damage is limited, keep it and sort it out. its a brilliant bike
Scariest non crash I've had was tucking the front on some roadworks mud they'd left. Bike was practically horizontal before the front gripped again and stood up. Was so violent it nearly bucked my off the bike. Road conditions from a farmer also played a part in my first ever 'off'. Coming round a corner too fast to account for a road full of fist sized rocks. Yes, I admit speed played a part but I'd have been fine without the rocks.
Really sorry to hear this. Its amazing the injuries you got from such a low speed accident. Sods law I guess. Ive had numerous "offs" in my younger days, including a massive high side at 120mph which completely totalled a bike, but ive always walked away with just bruises. (touch wood) These days however I injure my back just climbing out of bend in the mornings.
Theres a 90 degree bend just up the road from where I live on the B645 and I have lost count of the number of cars ive seen crash at that bend. The sole reason being is that the farmer who lives there seems to take great delight in leaving 3 inches of mud all over the bend whenever he goes in / out of his fields on nearly a daily basis. Its ridiculous. Luckily I know to expect this, so whilst its a lovely 90 degree bend, with perfect tarmac, I always go into it assuming the worst.
I was young and on my fist proper bike (new zx6r). I knew the roads and at that age went everywhere at max speed. Whoops [emoji6]
Bit better thanks Ducbird. Saw the consultant yesterday and my shoulder AC separation is a Grade 3, so should not require surgery. He reckons the shoulder blade will also heal itself in a couple of months, so happy days! My bike has sold and is on its way to Nuneaton. I've been lucky enough to have had lots of nice 2 / 4 wheel toys, but I've genuinely never felt as sad as when that 1088s was loaded into the back of the new owners van. PS - Is it wrong that I've been checking out the Scrambler. :Bag:
really sorry to hear the first part of thread but pleased things are improving toward the end - never say never again
