How warm does it have to be?

  1. ................before you'll go out on your bike?

I like it to be over 10C but tonight it feels even colder. Bah!

But the weekend is looking like it could be nice again.

  2. Blimey, where are you? It's still 22 down here.

  3. So why aren't you out on your bike? Cos I would be

  4. It's humid here would say it's been 21

ET get your thermals on and ride into the wind
Bloody soft men no good :p

  5. Still warm here too! Temperature isn't really the issue for me, it's more that I hate riding in the rain and also we suffer with the dreaded mud from farms on the back roads which just makes life bloody dangerous! The majority of the farmers round here don't put any warning signs out despite them being a requirement. So only got a few more weeks before it gets crazy round here and the bike gets put away. Hopefully this year I'll have a nice shed to put it in!

  6. prefer double figures ,,,

  7. +1 for double figures

  8. ice free.. With the ducati salt free and dry.

The minimum temperature for the perforated one piece suit is realistically around 10℃

  9. The worst I got caught out was one night from Ipswich to Norwich it went to - something .
    That wasn't nice .
I had an ice film on me . Probably one of the crappiest rides ever.

I tend to ride my rat in the 0 mark.

  10. I can remember Paivi coming all the way from London to Stratford for Ducatisti Xmas Party on her scoot!!!
It was freezing and icing over
    Talk about insane :)

  11. Just dry for me! Not bothered about the temp as can get layers on and those cans give off some heat anyhow!

  12. Like El T I'd prefer it to be over 10 degrees, but in reality if I fancy a spin I'll go out in almost any weather. But I do my utmost to avoid the rain these days. Anyone who says winter riding makes you a better rider is a twunt, it only makes you a colder, wetter rider:frown:

  13. Puh, as long as there was no ice, I was always out on the SS. I remember I was out when it was snowing and must of been in minus figures when we had that cold snap this year.

  14. There's nowt brave about going out in shit weather; I spent a couple of winters dispatch riding and it's bloody grim.

  15. :upyeah:

  16. Not saying it was brave, it was defo stupid but I had to due to work! Wouldn't do that now on the 749

  17. Warm enough to not need salt on the roads.

  18. Biking is like camping, anything lower than 6 degrees C and I'm off in the warm.

Actually I quite like riding when it's cold, as long as I'm fully long-johned up, but night-time and cold, forget it.

  19. There are only 4 sorts of cold weather riders:

    The poor
    The very brave
    The mad
    BMW owners.

I'm not poor enough, or brave enough or mad enough and I don't have a Beemer.

It's just no fun sub 10°C.
If it's winter I go skiing.
If it's "summer" I play my guitar.

  20. Won't it get cold and stick to the Tarmac?
