Get my FCR 41's tomorrow with dynacoil kit Those drawings that are supplied in the kit seem to be really CRAP:Arghh: Please if possible post LOTS pics with air-box mod for the throttle cable installation. Any other tips with opening up the top cover for better induction, fuel delivery pipe/ drain pipe / vent return into tank & routing and setup would be most appreciated. Many thanks! K
Might it not be simpler to ditch the airbox altogether and install K&N pod filters as with the Ducatisuite Monster?
Chris Kelley is indeed very helpful. When I ordered a coil kit from him, he wrapped it up as a Xmas parcel in the hope it would slip through customs - didn't work though :/ and when my SS started cutting to one cylinder, he helped me pinpoint the problem to the pick-ups - due to a loose alternator nut. Definitely one of the good guys
Memory shot but yes, I remember similar remarks about the modification pictures. I think brad (the biker boy) from Ozz has included comprehensive instructions and pictures online which certainly help. retaining an original airbox is definitely worthwhile once modded. Will find a link later if you don't/ no one else manages to
Thanks Gents! Want to retain the OEM box, will do a less aggressive mod than old rider, nicely done though! Found the airbox mod from Brad's blog. Brad The Bike Boy: Airbox mods when fitting FCR to Ducati SS and Monster
Thanks for replying above KG  you couldn't possibly have known but you have done an incredible job of restoring my sanity this morning as I encounter yet more more problems
K&N used to do a kit which included a frame to hold the filter in place and effectively replaced the whole oem lid with a completely open filter. Do you have that or just the filter? Might be worth checking the box before attacking the lid...
I only have the filter supplied in the kit, K&N high flow filter. I am planning on removing the 2 intake trumpets and cutting another 2 similar sized hols and take it from there. Thanks K
