899 Panigale 899 2016

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by wuffi, May 8, 2015.

  1. Hi everybody! I have sold my Multi1200S from 2010 and now i am interested in a Panigale 899. Does somebody already have some information about 2016 Panigale 899. Are there some modifications planned or eventually an "R" or Corse modell? If somebody has informations, please go on! I have a bike to ride, therefore the small Pani is not necessarily a must have this year.
    Thanks for any information!

  2. 1200 to 899 --- go for a 1199 or 1299 .. just a suggestion... ;)

  3. Thanks for suggestion, but it would be my first Superbike (i never tried one) and i own a KTM 1190. Therefore it only should be a toy before going too old.:D

  5. I would guess the 899 is due an update at the end of this year, its one of the few bikes in their range that is now 2 years old and is still using the 1199 bodywork rather than the 1299 which doesn't seem sensible financially.

I would like to see an autoblipper, TFT colour screen and a little more mid range.

  6. And a single sided swingarm

  7. Why ruin a perfectly good, lightweight and great handling bike like that?

  8. Here here.

  9. After riding the KTM the 899 will feel lacking in power, mid range grunt is pretty non existent, IMHO you are better off buying an 848 Evo if you want a mid range sports bike as a toy, but like Sharky suggested 1199 or 1299

  10. CS - your like a bloody stuck record every time someone mentions the 899 - give it a rest FFS. Everyone to their own, throttle goes both ways etc etc.

  11. Yep the 899 lacks mid range grunt no doubt but once you adapt your riding style to suite the engine characteristics and actually rev the fecker it goes well enough, keep the motor over 9k and with its sweet handling it can hold its own with the swb;)(small willy brigade).

  12. Thanks for your answers and suggestions. Meanwhile i have made the first 1000 kms and the service. Of course the small Pani doesn´t have the torque which i know from my KTM but nevertheless it makes much fun:). I never thought that the kind of motorcycle driving could be so different. Maybe i am more relaxed faster on my twisty "homeroads" with the KTM because out of habit but for me its funny and the power is enough (at least at the moment). By the way i find mine with the Termi and mapping has more power than the standard exhaust version which i tried for test run!

  13. If it ain't broken why fix it?

  14. I don´t really understand your question.

  15. Could be, but the last two Christmas's they have given free termis, and that includes the launch year.
I got full leathers when I bought the 848 so they do like a promo.

  16. After @scrawnsenior went around Donnington ~10 seconds quicker on his 899 than me on my 1199s I've got a different opinion of the smaller bike!
