  1. Would you buy a pair of leathers or boots without trying them on first?
That said I bought a carbon fibre X lite blind just because it looked flicking gorgeous, luckily fits like a glove and is incredibly comfortable.

  2. If you're keeping it 10 years it's got to be worth a special trip to a big helmet discounter, no? No way would I buy a helmet without trying it on unless it were a like for like replacement. Still, your head.

  3. Yep, i think its a trip to the shops. I think the rocket centre is about the closest to me with a decent choice. I am North of manchester M62 Jct21 if anyone knows anywhere nearer.
Thanks for the "heads up" :upyeah:

  4. As said the best helmet is the one that fits yer noggin.

I love Arais for me the best helmets out there. Main drawback is they are noisy, but as I ride with plugs its not an issue for me

  5. I Have had Arai lids for years, then last year I decided a change so went for the AGV PISTA GP Helmet - I must say I am glad I did - its a great fitting helmet and looks the nuts , wind noise is reduced over the Arai and the Vision in my opinion is better - only downside to the pista is the Visor locks and can be a pain to unlock when wearing thick gloves - it all comes down to how much you want to spend - my last Arai was in the region of £500 - was the RX7 GP - and the AGV Cost me £999.00 Last Year

  6. A thousand notes?
    Ouch.

  7. GearChange in Scunthorpe, great shop and do online also. Not £999 for a Pista, I think I gave under £450 for my Corsa from memory (bought some other bits at the same time) and pretty sure that the Pista was under £700 from them.

  8. I'm liking my Ben Spies HJC even more now, for only £150 :D Fits real nice and weighs only 1300g.

  9. J&S has stores in Manchester, Preston and Northwich, always seems to have a huge selection, it may be worth a look, especially if you want to try one on (check online if it has what you want before making the trip) J&S Accessories - Full Face Motorcycle Helmets

  10. I got the LTD Edition Guy Martin Helmet - 1 of 100 Made for sale - Hence the Price tag - its not a mass produced one like all the other Pista helmets

  12. I love my AGV GP PRO but it's due a change. Been trying on loads but can't find anything that is anywhere near as comfortable. I want to try a NEXX XR2 but cannot find anyone stocking them in my area. Anyone know of a stockist in the Herts, Beds, Bucks or Northants area?

  13. A google of nexx and northants gave me this......

  15. It's quite a trek but it's probably the closest to me. Will have to find time to try it. Thanks

  16. Hi Stripes, I have a Nexx XR1 and am very pleased with it. I have had Shoei helmets for the last 20 odd years and made the change 18 months ago. The Nexx is light, comfy, reasonably quiet and there is great visibility as the visor is very large. Well worth taking a look IMO .

  17. After ringing around several dealers and realising they don't actually carry any stock I have ordered this from sportsbikes direct. My last two helmets have been shoei so hopefully it will fit me! [IMG]

  18. Nice lid, looks cool. Shoei don't fit my head at all. The only Arai I tried was too big but would have been very comfy, the shop didn't have one small enough. Ended up with a XS size in a Shark, fits like a glove and dead comfy. Only £180 at the time as well from memory. I know, I have a tiny noggin, I think that accounts for my poor memory :)
