Yes it was intentional, always hated that piece spoiling the all red look. Surely ducati could have come up with something better to locate the fairing.
Impressed with the quality of the paint from Rs goes on nice even in tins, match is pretty good but won't be able to see completely until all fitted on the bike. Will get a finished picture on once it's all back together.
I used 1x can etch primer, 2x cans of base grey, approximately 1.75 cans red & just under 2 cans of lacquer to do the bellypan and top fairing. Both had about 4-5 coats.
I probably could have got away with less Grey, but wanted to give the insides a really good coat and I filled the indicator holes in on the fairing so ended up using more as I sanded it several times which would have saved a can at £15.50. Total spent £93.50 + Vat
Cheers....... Won't be going the sausage this time as we depart for Scotland on the 13th for a week, shame really would have be great to go again.
