1200 DVT Satnav Advice

  1. Right chaps. This is what I have ended up with... I cut the handlebar mount in half and drilled a hole so I've ended up with 2 holes through which I have put bolts through to bolt it to the plastic screen receiver. Pics of my initial cable tie job, then the finished product.

  2. Questions regarding my iPhone holder... No idea of the brand but here are pics of it, the mount and the hole I cut out to put a charger in. It's a snug fit so water ingress has yet to be an issue. It's well protected behind the screen.

  4. I nearly did the same, but was worried the waterproof case would be far less so. Now I have BT in my lid, I don't need to look at the screen as much so will see how it goes with the headstock mount I used for satnav. If not, I may just invest in a proper satnav when I get back as the home can't be used on the go anyway

  5. @bradders, if you're still after a waterproof case without the need for drilling, you can get one here.
    You say you can't operate the phone on the move, but there's an increasing number of gloves available that will work with touch-screens, or you could treat your favourite gloves with this.

  6. Oddly enough, the thumbs on my gloves work the screen perfectly now I've worn away the White sheen. Just did the trip to the office with the phone properly mounted. Works lovely and I know I'll have 100% battery wherever I land. All maps on copilot are offline too so no data charges. Speed cams and traffic reroute too.

  7. Oh and a few months back I won something on eBay at a set of lights. Satnav can't do that [emoji6]

  16. Ok guys. Tomtom 40 purchased and ram mount for Yoke mount. What's best for wiring in? Run direct from a battery connection or try and cut into a live wire somewhere? Hooking up straight to the battery sounds easiest!

  18. Cheers Bradders. Any idea if there's the same on the DVT? I can't see any mention of it in the manual, other than using the USB socket under the passenger seat?

  19. The dealer fitted my power cable from my 2013 bike to the new 2015 bike so I assume it is the same. It may be harder to get to the socket with the new panels on the 2015 model.

  20. I think @Pete1950 mentioned tyere was a power point rhs between headstock and clocks...have a look there
