Bloodyhell, that's about £22.5k, was that secondhand or new ? 1299s are around 26k euro new, base are about 21k euro new. There is a 2month old 1299s up for 23,500 euro's.
That price includes Germany 19% tax/vat. So take that away and then pay 20% here, OR register it there first so already paying the sales/tax/vat for it in Germany, so making it a used vehicle. (I THINK?) Just got this snippit from dvla site. "Please be aware you do not need to pay VAT if the vehicle is second-hand and the VAT was paid in another EU country"
If you register it in Germany first, you will pay 32,990 euro, which according to xe.com rightnow at 1.40 euro to £1.00gbp will actually be £23,455. OR, Bring back here unregistered and pay uk 20% vat. Will cost you in Germany - 27,723 euro, which rightnow is, £19,708gbp, + £3940.16 (20% uk vat) when registering it here. (£23,648,16)
So all we need is a friend in germany with an address & a willingness to 'help' organize registration & make a quick earner for doing a 2nd hand deal.
the extra involved being so small surely it would be better to buy ex of German vat and pay UK vat and register here
Just spotted this! No brainier buying in Germany ex vat and paying the vat in the UK! Hmmmm..... 1299s with bits or 2015 1199r????
If had the cash myself, I'd go for 2015 1199r. Think of as the 1199r they should of built first, a true "R" Or even better, Think of it as a Superleggera with lower spec cosmetics/wheels/suspension but same engine, for £30k less.
