998 Matrix With Full 50mm

  1. Hello I ve got a full 50mm exhaust from an S fitted but the ECU is a 96507402B 45mm so would I be better off getting an ECU from a 998s

  3. Or I have a brand new virgin ECU for a 998s with 50mm cans if you can't get it together with Chris. Andy

  4. Thanks but have the chip comming but I would like to know as mine has different cams will the map be as good

  5. Hope you've got an ECU coming and not a chip. Your bike uses the IAW59M ECU. The fuelling for the 50mm should cure any lean running.

As far as I understand and Chris is the widely acknowledged subject matter expert here, you programme the ECU to get the right amount of fuel by varying the injection pulse throughout the rev range. A stock ECU whether for standard or "race" cans will do the best it can but it will never be as good as a bespoke map. If you have different cams, that will vary the quantity of air so your stock or Ducati Performance ECU is unlikely to be great. I am sure Chris will give you a more authoritative steer. Andy

  8. Sorry, only have maps for the 45 and 50mm.

    The only way to go if you are running freer flowing exhausts and different cams is a custom map.

    You need a trip to CJS or BSD. Not cheap.

  9. Is anything ever cheap with these bikes as I m finding out, sorry what I ment was because mine is a 998 and the 96507502B is for a 998s the cams within both engines different will that make any difference

  10. Just gone through my maps

    96507402B - 996R/998S 45mm
    96507502B - 996R/998S 50mm

    Then found this one
    96509202B - 998 Matrix
    Don't know for what pipes but guessing 45mm

  11. The guy I got it from had termi 45 & chip so the 202 could be standard I ll find the chip and get back to ya

  15. Thanks yes I saw theses on there, fitted the 7052B and took her out today very happy so instead of looking for more power I ve started looking for a slipper clutch as old one on the way out and they not cheap but as always respect to help and advice from everyone on here
