Hi What year is the bike, is it an original Strada Monoposta, do you have servivce history that backs up the mileage?
someone i know thinking of selling 916 strada , one of the first , from 1994. he asked me for advice on how much he should put it up for (if he indeed will decide to sell) and i didn't know what to say. so i thought i will ask experts. what do we think ???
I should have bought one 2 years ago, it was up for £4995 and could have done a deal at £4500 at a specialist car garage - it was the owners. 16500 miles, UK bike, massive history file, reasonable condition but needed a general tidy. It didn't get snapped up quickly but I guessed at the time it was a good buy at that price. I would be interested.
Similar unless it sells for more! As I said, the one I was looking at was for sale for a few months and I thought it would have sold quicker. In future they will be sought after. Difficult to value these things at a point in time, it would have gone up a little more for sure. If he's brave an Ebay auction will find it's value, or Bonham's. I would be interested in more info if it's coming up for sale though. You see bikes of this type selling for massively different prices, depending on mileage, history, current road worthiness etc.
As I said, depends on a lot of things. There were 6 Senna reps at Bonhams year before last and all sold for around £5k to £6k. People are asking £10k to nearly £20k - so what are they actually worth? One owner, history, low miles - say 5000, then maybe? No details available though so hard to say ;-) Edit: there is a 1994 one for sale now at under £5000 and open to offers.
I've just sold my 1998 916sps in mint condition for £8000, 12000 miles on the clock, I've owned it now for 10 years
