  3. If Ducati are conforming to Euro 4 regs, then why ain't BMW got them on ?

  4. :upyeah:
Great photos! They capture the look of the bike better than those in the brochure. :upyeah:

  5. Quote: Will try with the DWC turned off over the next weekend.

Another 200 Klm's today. Outbound, made sure on default settings and tried all riding modes, on the way back switched off DWC and found in all cases no change to the soft throttle response. I am comparing the throttle response to my 2010 and 2013 multistrada. Both these bikes had an immediate throttle response and were a hoot to ride. I hope the DVT hasn't been "dumbed down" just to make it easier to ride around town.

  6. Stunning pics, but oh those reflectors! ;)

  7. Yeah, couldn't peel them off this morning. Will try warming them with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive.

  9. Let us know how that goes. I want mine off.

    Cheers.

  10. Had them on previous bike forks. Flat bladed screwdriver pings them off, then just clean off remaining residue

  11. Its a very weird thing these Euro vehicle regs.

There is a difference between a completely new bike/car and a revised bike/car. I had this explained to me a few weeks ago but i client who works designing vehicle production lines. if the vehicle has a new frame/cahssis and engine then i think it has to cponform to the latest regs. If however, its a revision of a current model then you are allowed to just conform to current regs. At some point though all new vehicles sold will have to conform to the new regs.

By meeting the new regs early, you are putting off having to change the bike completely in the future. All new bikes going for homologation have to meet Euro 4 by 01.01.2017. All current bikes being sold have to meet it by 01.01.2018 and be registered by 31.12.2020.

By 01.01.2021 they all have to meet Euro 5 by which time i suspect it will be impossible to fit new exhausts other than Euro approved ones.

  12. Why does there seem to be two different sets of handle-bar indicators. Some are metal with indicator & plastic above & others like the shots above are totally plastic.

  13. both are made off plastic, just different colors. S version is grey\metal, the normal (like the above) is black.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  14. Duke, thanks for the explanation but I would have thought the new Multi is a revision not a new model but there you go.
But another thing that puzzles me slightly is why are Ducati's so expensive, at the moment considering the strength of the
    £+ € ?

  15. When you say "soft throttle response" are you referring to he amount of throttle that has to be twisted before you get engine response ? If that's the case I agree with you, as I have always had my throttle cables adjusted with minimum play I to find it annoying but I could learn to live with it. I read somewhere that Ducati did this on purpose !!!

  16. Tobers, I noticed you removed the rear mud guard, was it dificult to get off, and did you have to remove the back wheel

  17. Great pictures!

  18. No problem, 3 bolts and its off. It leaves bare alloy exposed at the bolt holes though.

  19. Yes, that is partly what I mean, but add to that, the reaction time for the engine to respond to the throttle input in any riding mode. It is not immediate like my twin spark 2013 model, on which, I had no trouble keeping up with sports bikes on mountain roads. Alas I think those days are gone unless it all changes when I have the bike fully run in. Given the bike has a ride by wire throttle I imagine it is a mapping constraint not a cable adjustment. Bit of a shame really because everything else about the bike is absolutely brilliant and I like you find it annoying, but will have to learn to live with it. Hopefully, if enough people complain a new engine map will be available for download at the first service.

  20. Not sure I agree with all this. I had a demo for 3 hours this week and I thought it was the quickest thing I had ever been on and i've been on a few. You just have to get it up to 6000 revs. I wouldn't say its docile up to that either. Pulls lovely but hit 6000 and my god, what a machine. 2 seconds an it red lines and up you go again. I'm on my third multy and this isn't just an upgrade, its in a completely different league to previous models. This machine will be the benchmark for all bikes of its type in the future. An absolute gem from Ducati.
