.........I'm suffering badly..... After several instances of a raging toothache and several courses of antibiotics, I finally went to the denstist yesterday for a tooth to be extracted..... ....don't get me wrong, I don't mind having dental work or even the process of having a tooth out (although I don't like the idea of losing a tooth) but with this one, an abcess had formed underneath and for ages it was so chronic we couldn't actually tell which tooth it was that was causing the problem.... ...however, the dentist (a really attractive Spanish lady) assured me she know which tooth had to come out...even showed me the abcess under the tooth on the x-ray. Anyway, after 16 (yep, 16) stabs with the needle, it came out fairly easy for a rear lower jaw molar..... ......yesterday I was disorientated, but not in pain..... ....but today, bl**dy hell.......does my head hurt? Yes it bl**dy does...... Can't take anything with ibuprofen in it (which is the only thing that reduced the previous pain) because it upsets my asthma medication....... ....I guess I will have to put up with it.......... I've had several bouts of severe toothache and oral surgery at the hospital. It's no joke! I found sitting up rather than lying down helped loads. Good luck with it and get well soon...:smile:
I hate needles AND dentists, luckily my teeth have been good to me... I changed to a female dentist? Two reasons - my old male dentist was a sadistic Nazi freak, and - I like looking at boobs.
No alcohol for 48 hours........(for both tooth and the anti-biotics which I finshed yesterday).....:frown: AL
This Spanish one lays her 'chest' on my head when she is working on my teeth.......:biggrin: ...at this rate I will need dentures...... AL.
Sympathy given ... Just been through the same .. Can you take codeine ? And watch out for dry socket!!! Had that a year ago I never want it again!!!!! I've got to have a plate made now how attractive . I get odd nerve signals in my face. Causes toothache pain even after the tooth is root canal . The pain shoots so badly . How about some arnica from Holland and Barrett will treat bruising if taken as and help get shot of it it's natural children and pregnant women can If pain still bad go back as it could be dry socket! Get arnica tablets today , Hope you feel bry

I try to get through it by imagining white lacy undies under that coat, only the PAIN keeps me in check down there. :biggrin:
I have a similar "issue" with my chiropractor. If the shoulders need work, the operation requires that she wedges my arm between her thighs...perilously close to the growler. I'm always amazed at my level of self control :biggrin:

If the pain is serious get it looked at. Someone I know who experienced something similar almost died from septicaemia following a tooth extraction !!!!!!!!!!!
My good looking GP said 'your heart rate seems to be a bit high' after she took my pulse, I muttered something about white coat syndrome.
