Hi, I have recently bought a 996 trackbike and it's ME that's old....not the bike!!! It has been owned by 2 of my mates over the last 3 years or so and came back up for grabs again about a week ago. As I had asked for '1st Dibs' on any future sale I got the call and rushed around to raise the money (I had to sell my X11 to help). Me and my son(s) will be doing occasional trackdays on it, Stewart has already booked Oulton Park on tuesday 23rd June and although its a quick bike I'm afraid he (and I when I get chance) will be taking it steady in the novice class. Stewart has only ever done 2 x trackdays about 2 years apart, once at Mallory on a TRX850 and this easter on my X11 at Anglesey. As a widower I have taken the liberty to give it pride of place in my living room as its such a good looker. I am currently waiting for a front paddock stand to arrive and some tyre warmers and need to sort out a nearby socket for the 'optimate' charger.
welcome - a few of us oldies on here still persevere (I'm 60), and you're in good company. Ps - nice shoes
"ps. nice shoes" Ha Ha As a piss-take of all the vain bastards who take pictures of their 'sausage legs' and flat tums whilst lying down on a sunlounger I have a thing going on facebook whereas I take pictures of my 'toecaps' of a great view in Scotland where I work but always ensure my dog BAILEY is in the shot
Welcome! Another 996 owner here! Unfortunately my wife wouldnt let me keep mine in the house though, so its shivering in a cold garage atm!
Mine too! Even tho' it's an SPS, I explained! Bl@@dy inconsiderate, I calls it. PS mine's a 748, so even more deserving of sensitive treatment ('cos it's littler, see?)
Welcome, it's you- not too old and me-21 keeping the average age round here, down to summat respectable!
