Hottrax Gone Bust

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by JenC, May 9, 2015.

  1. As seen on FB, they cancelled all racing yesterday and went into liquidation today. Real shame to see another club go to the wall.

DD and national endurance will now have to find another home :(

  2. That's indeed a shame. I struggle to work it all out with racing clubs, so many of them struggle and end up folding (Derby Phoenix recently too), someone needs to ask why this is happening (apart from the obvious answer of not enough people racing) and what can be done about it.

  3. Didn't hottrax also organise track days ? I know MSV are more aggresively pushing their own days at their tracks and have been under cutting the prices of FE and NL at the same tracks but it looked like the track day business was pretty solid. Real shame and will put more pressure on the surviving companies to run more/bigger groups and that is a can of worms that has already been well and truely opened. Andy

  4. They stopped td's several years ago, only doing a couple of euro ones beg/end of season.

Biggest losers (excepting owners) will be those who paid the year upfront or have already booked Jerez TD in Oct. 4 rounds into 11 and the cash won't be coming back. Fingers crossed they used credit cards

  5. Never good to hear of anyone going into liquidation. :(

Though I can think of one person/company that I'd like to, and burn in hell whilst they're at it :)

  6. Your boss? Yeah, burn him!

  7. Hottrax track day business went in to liquidation a few years ago. Sad to see their racing business has followed this year. Hopefully NL will pick up some of the racing classes. A few of the NL instructors are buying CB500's at the moment.

  8. Sad news for sure

  9. I'm sure the Teflon Fuhrer can bankroll the DD stuff.

  10. Shame, I used to be a regular booker with Hottrax. Karen and her husband (Dave?) were good people and listened to riders. Doubly sadly I understood that they took a massive personal hit several years ago when they put their pension money into Florida property

  11. Threads merged :)
