Feeling reasonably human first thing this morning,0930 that is,I decided a run on the bike would be in order.I told Mrs Mervyn that I was going out for a spin. She said that was brilliant, followed by 'Your'e going to the Ducati dealer for a test ride I reckon'.No,I replied, just going to chew the fat and look at the new bikes they have in. So I arrive at the dealers and the first thing I see is one of the new Scramblers, never seen one before,so quite interested.About 2 cups of tea later one of the partners asks if I would like to take a Scrambler out for a go.It would have been rude not to,so off I went. What a hoot. I enjoyed it so much that Mrs Mervyn has forced me to put a deposit down on a new one:Angelic:. I asked her how she knew I was going to test ride a Scrambler-apparently it was obvious what I was up to and I am so predictable She also asked me what I had bought when she came in from work:Angelic:
Getting my shit together ready for hospital tomorrow, want to get it out of the way before hubby somes home,so that I can just try and relax and chill out tonight, courtesy of my friend diazepam
Thank you guys, this time tomorrow I'm hoping the deed will be done, and I'll be far away in la la land!!
Today I wheeled my bike out of the garage but it seemed to have got very hard to push. Turned out the rear tyre was flat, with a nail in it. So I postponed my shopping trip, effected a temporary repair using the "black sticky string" method so it would hold some pressure, and rode to the tyre repair guy (Essential Rubber). He did a proper repair on the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2, using the "mushroom" method. While the tyre was off, I got him to fit an angled valve which will allow a TPMS sensor to be fitted without fouling the rear brake caliper.
