Awe man I got accused of "Willy Waving when I posted a pick of my tyre, and I was only trying to prove a point. Put it back in your pants..... ah fuck it hears mine, I've worn out the embossed Angel GT logo. Now were in trouble.
cant quit get em on to the edge and i have just noticed they fitted a Michelin pilot instead of power to the front cocks. possible problems? only just started using the ugly one this week tyre fitted two months ago, i genuinely thought it felt different, rear felt a bit more drifty if that makes sence. my toes touch first on the multy and bottles goes first on the 848
The old multi is harder to get to the edge than the new, as the pegs are indeed lower imo. And PR3/4s need a fair bit more than the std tyres to get to the edge Thats why I have an inch left, and thats the reason I'm sticking with
If on track different compounds may cause an issue finm as one has more grip than the other, on the road its only water clearing. Nothing I'd worry about too much...again unless you have loads of cuts in the front and almost none in the rear
cool you beat me to it. i guess i will just need to wear the front out and replace with a power when due. i aint no riding god but i deffo feel a differance. on the 848 from coarsas to Micheline's up here was massive
Corse profile will probably be steeper, I think the powers I have seen are between bridgestone and piralli in profile angle so SC tip in real fast but can feel 'edgey' bridgstone tip in slow but feel mega planted, michelin combination of the two
i guess its a confidence thing. the multy came with mitch powers and has felt spot on and stuck with them. 848 couldn't chem em quick enough. still need to get the rear softened a bit. maybe this year.
dude,i know so little about this stuff i dont know if yer taking the piss or not . seriously? the bike gripes good now but it is fecking hard.
I put some 1st edition qualifiers on the 848 as they were 'cheap'. I'm happy with them, took them to stadium car park to scrub in, couldn't get last few mm and the front was starting to push out when toe slider scraping (can't imagine I'll ever achieve that amount of lean on the road, felt like I was practically on the floor, feck knows what 63 degrees feels like), better to have a bit of tyre left than run out? They're a bit firmer than the sportsmarts I had before but half the price so don't give a monkeys!
How much do you weigh Fin? The standard 848 has far too stiff a rear spring in it for my weight so I have just bought a softer spring. Ducati in there infinite wisdom fit a spring to allow for a pillion passenger to be carried, but if like me you never carry a pillion you really need to get the correct spring rate for you bike to get the most out of it.
