899 Has Anybody Put M7rrs On An 899?

  1. Morning just picked up second puncture on my rosso corsa rear and it can't be repaired.

I need to sort new tyres for Monday i don't mind getting the Pirellis again but i love the M7RRs on my 675R.

Has anybody fitted them on the 899 without any TC, ABS, EBC issues at all due to the 55 profile??

I know a lot of 1199 riders have fitted them but interested specifically in 899.

    Cheers

  2. I'd be curious about the answer to this as well. The 60 profile really limits the tyre choice so would be great if we can use a more 'normal' profile even if it means it's a little slower to lie over...

  3. I Took the Corsa's off and fitted Supercorsa's to mine much better tyre had these on my 636 and have them on the Supermoto and they stick like a fly on Shit

  4. I like the thought of the SCs but I ride to and from work and sometimes in the rain so don't know if I want to lose more wet weather grip so something like the M7rr's would be good if they work...

  5. That's a Valid Point and I also do ride to and from work, not all the time, and some times in the rain, it can be a bit sketchy if I am honest, I am due a change soon so will decide I just found the Corsa to lack grip unlike the SC's

  6. Just had a chat with an 899 owner who stuck some 55 profile Michelin tyres on our of necessity in France. Sent the TC loopy unless was on level 3 or below and even then he said he wouldn't trust it to kick in when fully leaned over on a trackday.

Bollocks the M7RR are going for £170 at the minute Corsas are £235

  7. What's the profile on the M7RR?

  8. 180/55/17

  9. Balls.
Was hoping they were 60 as I thought they would be my next buy.

  10. That's why I was hoping they'd fit. So limited to tyre choice in the 180/60 size.

  11. Dunlop SportSmart2 comes in a 180/60 ... I had the original SportSmart on my Street Triple R, now have M7RRs on it, I'd say they're a similar type of tyre and were very good in the wet.

  12. Thanks for that, actually one of the options I was looking at!

  13. Hi i've sent an email to metzeler and they answer that size not in plan but if more ppl ask them maybe they start thinking otherwise.

  14. Seen the variants before but not seen the differences anywhere so does anyone here know the difference between the Supercorsa SP and V2? The SP is much cheaper but don't know why?

  15. Sp is the road version, sure the other ones are track focused with various states of stickyness and compound,i have the sp's on my 899,best tyre ever for fair weather riders and bloody good on track.

  16. Sounds like a good choice then!

What's the wear like compared to the Rosso's?

  17. Sp will wear quicker, but it all depends on how hard you are on tyres,i got 2500 out of the rosso corsas, looking at the sc's i think tey may be good for 1500,both with a couple of trackdays.

  18. SPs are very good but with the amount of punctures i get i dont want to shell out that much. M7RR's are the best all round tyre i've used they were amazing on track too.

Sportsmarts tend to suit bigger litre bikes i think. I had them on my Daytona and hated them. Felt really wooden. Sportsmart 2 would have to be a massive improvement for me to even consider them.

I need to sort a tyre tomorrow so might just get a rosso corsa rear as i have about 3.5 - 4.5mm on the front tyre that should do for a bit shouldn't it?
