Helmets?

  1. Is there anyone out there doing deals on Arai's at the moment? (my last two helmets have been Aria's so I quite like them and how they fit)

Think I'm looking at a RX-7GP or maybe a Quantum.

Or should I be considering other makes?

  2. I'd have the RX-7gp or RX-7rc if they fit me properly.....

  3. Not sure there are many deals at the moment, stock is a little thin on the ground due to the change in UK distributor.

  4. As to whether you should be looking at other manufacturers, do they fit you?

I've concluded that I have an Arai shaped head, having tried on pretty much every other manufacturer's lids at the Excel bike show a couple of years ago. Am on my second Arai, picked up at that show. Couldn't believe how wrong assorted AGVs, Suomis, Shoeis etc felt given the shape of my bonce.

Hein Gericke's website says a few of their shops are still open even though the website is down - the only ones oop north are Preston and Manchester ...might be bargains to be had there.

  5. Yeah I think I have an Arai shaped head too. Though I've also had a shoei in the past that was ok.

Might have to get my arse in gear and check some out. Hopefully there may be some bargains when the weather turns ;)

  6. I really liked my Colin legend Arai
    Felt really comfy
I got mine from helmet city in west bay after trying the schuberth S1 PRO which I couldn't get on with
Have a look on line they do some good deals

  7. I think one of these would look good with your bike El

  8. That's nice Anth

  9. They do a few great designs.....but they just don't fit me right, and they're a bit too noisy for my liking as I usually don't wear earplugs.

  10. I don't wear ear plugs and I found it ok
Bloody AVG was awful for whistle

  11. I'm peeved I never bought one of these at the time... Don't think they are made anymore...

  12. They seam to make a lot of wind noise around the side pods. (now there's a line for the jokers)

I've only ever had one AGV, but it was a basic model and it was shite.

My current helmets are all Shoei, but I quite liked a HJC one I had and some of the new sharks are excellent.

  13. Is that one of the Soumy ones?

  14. helmet city always seem reasonable got my last arai from them

  15. I like this one....

  16. Have to agree mate, I've had a couple of AGV's and not really got on with them.
I got a good deal on a Shark S900. Really pleased with it, has the internal visor as well..
Second one I've owned. Not the quietest, but quieter than the AGV, I always wear ear plugs..

  17. Mine fitted tightly so there was no room for side winds the only time was if I tucked under the screen it would lift slightly giving a rush more than a whistle
I loved my schuberth but the Arai is a very close contender

I had a Rossi rep AVG K1 I think it was in a med. Was tight fitting bit seemed to loosen up on wearing

  18. agv. K3 iirc.

  19. Ah right....

I didn't realise they'd used AGV....mind it would make sense as they like to support company's in their own country where possible.

  20. It was called the Clutch Helmet. :upyeah:
