749 Tail Pack

  1. Anyone used the below tail pack or simialr on their 749/999 Mono. Booked to go touring Europe in September and not a fan of tankbags(especially when you're filling every 90 odd miles).
    Thanks in advance Phil

  2. Ventura system on my 999 mono. Works for me.

  3. Wouldn't want to try a tailpack on a mono, the subframe is fragile enough as it is...;)

  4. Thanks guys, Chris, was really looking for something that could be strapped on and off quickly and possibly use on other bikes. Yellow, wouldn't be carrying much in the bag, are they really made of cheese?

  5. Go carefull with the weight on the mono subframe @philg25. I converted mine from a bip to a mono last year and although I haven't had any problems you'll find many owners on here that have had to get them repaired because of them cracking. It's a alloy frame and much weaker than the steel bip one. I've heard rumours that Ducati changed loads of them under warranty from new as it was a common fault back then.

  6. Doesn't really matter how much is in the bag, its the pressure applied to subframe when its strapped on tight, can't imagine it would do your rear cowl much good either.

And yes they are pretty prone to snapping ,as Mongoose says they are made of alloy on the mono as opposed to steel on the bip.

  7. Thanks for the advice guys, looking like the dreaded tankbag will have to be used.

  8. You have the updated stronger sub frame on your 749 Phil. The original one cracked when I had the bike, it was replaced by Ducati for me.

  9. Cheers John, Hows the 848 doing?

  10. Absolutely perfectly thanks Phil, I'm still learning to ride it!
Had it on track on Wednesday, only thing wrong with it was the rider.
