Had the bike's first service today. £140 all in. Anyone being charged more than that is being shafted! Only problem is that the bike has an oil leak from the front cam cover, needs to go back in for a fix. Also they were unable to reset the service indicator. Kinell! Raised the issue of the "look at it and it scratches" dash screen. They've polished it and it's better but not 100%, so will be pursuing a warranty claim. Also got a warranty claim for what I can only describe as a "staining" on the bottom of the off side fork leg. Likely to require a complete new fork leg. Finally when I ordered the bike I ordered the remote filler cap (bit pointless but hey ho) and the official Garmin Sat Nav. They hadn't arrived when I picked the bike up but would be fitted at first service. Guess what, they've still not arrived and there is no delivery date from Ducati. The dealer has been brilliant and I can't complain about them. Ducati however....sort out your bloody act on quality and parts delivery. Don't take punters cash if you can't supply!! Still love the bike though!
Himm that's not good at all. Well service price depends where you live. I am expecting to be £210 so that's not too bad as well. And I am in London .
Hi @Lambliesdown really interested to hear more about your leak on cam cover. Mine was in for just that, work done, back to me and leaking again! I've uploaded a picture of where mines leaking, same place as yours? Can you let me know what dealership you're getting this done with? Sounds like there's a wider issue here as Ducati UK have said they've had no reports...
Hi Pembroke Boy. Yeh it looks like the same place. But mines not leaking that bad. Being fixed (I hope, but given what you've said I'm worried) on 4th July. Don't really want to ride it til it's done tbh. Dealer is Laguna Performance in Ashford, Kent. So far they've been brilliant.
Just got my "run in service" sorted on Saturday at Ducati Glasgow, £55 all in, they only charge for parts, were running the same service 5 years ago when I bought my first mts. Exceptional that they place such emphasis on customer service, and satisfaction. I've alwaysfound nothing is too much trouble for any of the team.
Just a quick update for you @Lambliesdown bike been with the dealer for two days now, Ducati Tech from HQ also visited today to assist and still not able to stop the oil leak from the base of the cam cover...... Day 3 tomorrow I'm hoping for good news, but just wanting to give you an update, but hope it's not the same with yours?! Dealer service team have been brilliant, can't fault them, but complaint email on its way to Ducati HQ.
Bloody hell 3 days and no solution!!?? Ducati should just replace the bike. Hope you get a solution soon. Mine's goin in on 4th July. Let you know what happens!
€192 (give or take a bit of shrapnel) - not bad, from an estimated cost of €225-€250. 1.5 hours of labour, and now I just need to put another 1300Km or so on the odometer to take care of the rest of the running in. The loan bike was a Hypermotard. Tiny, agile, revvy, wheelie-prone and great fun over short range. It did a great job of reaffirming that the big, heavy, planted, rocket-powered MTS was exactly the right choice.
are you guys never lug the bike after 7k in the second part of the running in? Not even once? I couldn't resist.. Not even sure why ducati wants you to run another 800 miles after the first service..
I'm determinedly being good - I plan to have this bike for a long time, so I'm being careful to run it in properly. Once she _is_ run in, however, things change. Like track days, so I can take her on a full-power romp *grin*
Nope.....big day tomorrow. Due parts from Italy for "final fix". It's been in their garage longer now than mine! Not happy and no response from Ducati HQ or UK. Poor..... Yours still leaking?
This is a minor consideration in relation to parts of this thread but I've just had first service done at 625 miles. Am I correct in thinking there is more running in to do? Not been told that by my dealer!
From the Owners manual - "Running-in recommendations Maximum rotation speed Rotation speed for running-in period and during standard use (rpm): 1) up to 1,000 km; 2) from 1,000 to 2,500 km. Up to 1,000 km During the first 1000 km, keep an eye on the rev counter. It should never exceed: 5,500÷6,000 rpm. During the first hours of riding, it is advisable to run the engine at varying load and rpm, though still within recommended limit."
Quietly hidden on the following page: Once you hit 2500, all bets are off and you can head for the track.
