Ok, we've always owned our house for the past thirty years, a couple of months ago we thought we'd move. A cash buyer turned up offered near enough the asking price, but wanted to move in within a month. So we accepted, and decided to rent till we decide what to do with our ill gotten gains from the house sale. Stay with me... We found a four bed detached corner house not really close to anyone So we moved in on Friday and some stuck up Tart across the road ( I think it's her but the guy we are renting off won't say) has already complained, I leave for work at 5am , if it's nice I use the Diavel, all standard no noisy pipes. Apparently it's to early to start a bike WTF. Am I being unreasonable starting work so early, I've only used it twice. it's pissed me right off. Sorry for long rant.
Tell her to move into a tent in the middle of a field if she wants silence. It's a road ffs ... to be used by vehicles allowed to use it. She has to suck it up I'm afraid.
Go and speak to your immediate neighbours even though you don't know which one has complained. Introductions always go down well. You are likely to find they've had a gut full of an endless steam of inconsiderate people rentIng the house. We have lived next door to a rented house, believe me, it can be hell, as many really really don't care. But a pleasant conversation can work wonders.
That's my way of thinking , I think they've all lived here a few years with their 2.1 children and Ford Mondeos , and because we are renting they think they're a cut above. We'll just have to drag them down to our level, us being biker trash that is!
I would start leaving for work at 4am. Watch that you don't rent for to long as house price's are on the up fast, its gone mad again.
Thing is I've already spoken to them when we moved in at the weekend. My motto is only complain about something if there is a solution otherwise what's the point?
I have one fab neighbour and one idiot, the idiot complained when I did the extension - I was putting sound proofing in the ceiling and he complained when I was doing it at 10am on a Saturday morning. He asked if I was going to sound proof it better! He got told to fuck off and for some reason he doesn't speak to me anymore
Mmmm, I wonder if you know any others with Ducati's that might want to see your new abode of a Sunday morning :Wideyed:
No problem starting and riding off at that time. I would get pissed off if you were starting up, warming it up, then put lid and gloves on, lock the garage then put rucksack on then pull away. 5am is too early.
Start it up and ride, that's what I do 5am is not too early! If that's when You have to go to work If you had to start your job at that time, and your transport was your bike what would you do? Sell your bike? Don't think so It's a 24 hr society now apart from the 9 to 5 mon/fri people who expect everything to be done for them quietly while they sleep!
You are being unreasonable IMHO. Just because you have a need doesn't absolve you from being a responsible neighbour. What would you think, as someone who has to get up early to go to work, if your neighbour wanted to play really loud music late at night ? Probably not what you wanted to hear ?
How close is close to your neighbour? I wouldn't mind a bike starting up as long as it didn't go on for ages 5am sounds much louder than say 7.30 Have a chat with her and explain you use the bike regularly and will keep noise to a minimum where possible You may like to think how you may feel having a lie in at the weekend and a neighbour starts being noisy around 5ish We have dogs consistently barking here at 5am and it's annoying Tried talking to neighbours but they no comprend English The other neighbour is altering fencing to keep theirs from being annoying and let them out at 7 instead to bark :Banghead: Personally I would rather a bike Saying that all windows open last night and at 12 am someone on a screamer raced around the road Woke me up with a start it's bloody loud and echoing at that time of day :Rage:
