  1. Seems to be a lot of em on eBay just now , why do think lots of folk selling them ??

  2. Never really noticed, can't think why.I love mine,it's the 796.Maybe it's people who have never ridden a Ducati or maybe a V-twin before.

  3. ;)

  5. It's easy.......too tall !

  6. I think you could be right as many have convinced themselves it's not too tall to buy one then realise they are vertically challenged

  7. I would have liked an SP but went for the standard one with race seat I'm 5'9" with a 31" inside leg and I'm on tip toe. It's ok tho you just lean it to once side when you stop but backing it into the garage is definitely a get off job.

  8. Missing mine at the moment, thinking of chopping the rsv4 in for another ducati-engined something....

  9. I couldn't believe it when you sold yours seeing as you loved it so much you were on your second. And you'd spent a fortune on it, I only wish I'd known you were serious about selling it :-(

  10. I do miss it but I'm really liking the zed....The rsv4 is kind of a special thing if you will...If go out on that....

    1. Wearing full leathers
    2. Out with my mate (the only one left with a bike)
    3. We're going somewhere where it's bike related...tt, motogp etc etc

All of those things fall in place very rarely (about twice a year-ish) maybe four times, so I'm thinking of getting something more usable....another hyper, or streetfighter....just thinking about it at the moment...

  11. Had a quick look on eBay and Autotrader after seeing this post, there are a few on there but there are far more 1198s on there... maybe a little too scary for the road!

The HM seems almost a sensible option next to one of those things. I saw one up at Hartside last year, the bike looked angry, the owner looked shit-scared!

  12. Hello all. Ducati newb here. Just bought an 821 monster. How do they differ to teh Hyper 821?

  13. Well, ironically I had a 1100s before the RSV4 which was great but up til that point Id never owned anything with fairing in 25 years of riding, coupled with going up to the TT on the hyper on the motorway getting blown around everywhere (which didn't bother me too much) and then seeing packs of R1's, GSXR's etc etc flying past hunkered down behind the fairing I though "one day ill own something with fairing" just happened to be the RSV4. Its an absolutely fantastic bike, totally reliable (im on it today just to give it a run to work as its nice...plus the zed is at the dyno...) but for me its more of an occasion type of bike as I said....whereas something with straight bars is more accessible (sounds weird I know) its like, going to work in a Ferrari or going to work in an RS Focus.....im almost looking for an excuse to get something with a ducati motor in it!...

  14. [QUOTE="im almost looking for an excuse to get something with a ducati motor in it!...[/QUOTE]

what'll it be? something second hand, for you to modify? or maybe something nice in the 2016 line up?

  15. Well...if I was going for something - either another 1100 hyper but the 2 extremes....either an old 2007 1100s that I can tear to pieces, rewire, strip the motor get it coated correctly (you listening ducati!) change the clocks for motogadget etc etc...total tidy up...or, 1100 evo sp that's been looked after, tastefully modded etc etc or the other option is a 1098 streetfighter...the 821's: I dunno, I don't think so as I love the low end grunt of the 1100 and I don't think the 821 is that kind of motor....

  16. That's where you went wrong then, riding on a motorway! I hate the things. a nice ride up through Wales that's what you needed :-D

  17. I would like to have a go on the 1100, heard/read a lot about the low end torque of the motor, would be good to compare with the 821, although it seems grunty enough to me although no recent frame of reference for comparison.

mine is due for a 2nd service soon, i've been wonder which bike i should book as a demo while mine is fettered, 899 or maybe the Diavel?

  18. 899 - the diavel (to me) doesn't know what it wants to be...plus ive got a pet hate of round headlights...which ducati use - a lot...its almost like...."well, we got this far and it looks pretty good but we've run out of ideas...so..fuck it, go with that...."

see if you can get a go on a multi....they intrigue me...

looked at the Multi in the showroom, they seemed effin huge when stood next to one, pikes peak version was nice though.

maybe Ducati Manchester will be generous and let me try both :))

  20. Just for the record (and we all like pics...) theres my old 1100s....
