  3. Got to the pool at lunchtime.
In the pool is where you want to be when it's 35° or so.
The bit I am less looking forward to is the the bit where I have to put the leathers on for the ride home this evening. I have wheeled out some lighter Dainese garb - jacket and trousers without armour. More comfortable for these temperatures but still with some leather protection in case the unthinkable ever happened. Not a bad compromise (although not sure how marvellous the trousers would be in an off - but surely better than jeans).

When I get home, I shall make some more frozen margaritas like I did last night. They are the business! I have also bought all the things I need to make mojitos, too so might make them instead.

  7. Hi Mervyn It's good of you to ask considering what you have gone/are going through and as Loz said, it cheers us all up that you got out on a bike. Just let me know when you fancy a meet. I have worse issues than last year so far but only have to think of you and of course all the terrible headlines of late to put things into perspective.

  8. Fin, you resourceful chap - have you tried the 'wrap a fish in silver foil and attach it to your exhaust manifold' gourmet's guide to better cooking yet? I feel sure that you have  something I ought to try just once.

  9. In just over 1 hour I will be loading wife/kids in the tin box and driving round M25, M3 and M27 then all the way to Weymouth. Luckily there is a chilled beer and good single malts waiting for me at the other end! Oh, and me dad who I've not seen since December.

  17. Did this to a mate on his car without the silver foil, he was getting married and then traveling away in his car for the honeymoon so I thought it might be fun to wire a fish to the exhaust manifold. He still doesn't let me forget it after 30 odd years, I was his best man.

  19. I like cars of all shapes and sizes. Including a nice T-Bird :D

  20. Yesterday, actually, but finished ceiling, a full wall and half wall in the van, now its just side door and two rear doors to carpet.

Off to West Yorkshire tm to pick up some ex caravan cushions and fold out bed. The £500 camper van project is coming together nicely :upyeah:
