Just goes to show I should read the manual! I'm away in Italy in two weeks time and thought I would be at "maximum show off on tour" mode! Seems I'll have to be a little more restrained.
I've done 1100 miles so far in 3 weeks and was worried about going over the miles but the dealer said as long as I follow the maximum rpm then no worries. Waiting to tie in the first service with a part that needs fitting under warranty which is why the miles have crept up. I have done my best to keep below the rpm but may have had the odd spasm!
Yes mate. Back today, fingers seriously crossed, ridden home for an hour and a half and no leak! It's been a long, stressful wait with the dealer doing all they could (service manager a top bloke and we're well and truly on first name terms!), with apparently little help from Ducati. I await a response from Ducati UK following my complaint email...... If you have any issues, just get your guys to speak to my guys! When's yours in?
yes but what was the reason for the leak ? what is the part changed ?is there a new part number ? or a washer or a new torque setting ?
Hi mate. Well they reckon they sorted it by replacing an o-ring seal. When I got home there was a film of oil all over the bash plate. To be fair this could have been the residue from the ride to the dealer rather than the ride home. I've cleaned the bike up but not had the chance to get out today, but will tomorrow so I will find out after that ride. Will let you know.
Hey@Pembrokeboy. Just to let you know...the fix they did didn't fix it at all. In fact it's worse than it was before. Not impressed! Waiting to be advised what the next course of action is! Touring holiday in Italy is also ruined as they haven't got any service slots available in the near future. I will be seeking compo from Ducati UK!!
Can't they loan you anything Andy (found you)? Saw you on your way out canewdon way, I did that bit first then back through Rochford. Thought I'd wat until I get home until I plug in the SCU... Then I saw a lay by so fit it and set it up there. Still not done my clock [emoji106]
Hi James, yeh I saw you out by the Royal Oak. I laughed when I read you fitted the SCU at the roadside. Excellent! I'm bloody annoyed at the oil leak and am still waiting to hear back. They can't lend me a bike to take abroad....for the UK it would be fine. Hey ho. I'll have to go by car and have a bike holiday (at Ducati's expense) later in the year. I'll also be claiming for all my time and mileage in going to and from Ashford - 140 mile round trip.
Isn't the dealer first point of call ? they didn't fix it and don't think its Ducati's fault that they don't have enough staff to cope with the workload, and shouldn't the recovery service take your bike in?
I was just thinking that your warranty works at any ducati dealers so shop around for service slots. A good dealer would want to help you out and win your future business.
[email protected] your oil leak fix stayed fixed? What is it they actually did to cure the problem. Mine isn't being done til 13/8/15 but word be useful if I could tell them what your solution was. Cheers
Hello mate....13th of August!!!! Really you've got to wait that long? Why? Did you get my direct message I sent with details of what I had to do? Take a look at your messages, let me know if you haven't got it, and give me a shout.....
