Back to topic, don't forget some ventilation in the roof and low down the sides to let air flow, it will get very 'stuffy' in there on a night.
Figuring I'll leave a windonopen at the front rather than much with all that. Put push comes shove I'll drill a few holes lol
might be taking things to extremes here but if your storing fuel or taking your race bike in it. drill a few holes in the Flore.
Had to order 3m more lining, arrived yesterday so final door completed! Next started on the seating frame, so its out with the wood I had already and managed to get enough to complete the large seat, leaving just a couple of bits to buy. Also have legs to reuse from the last bed I made, so result! Thinking I'll be using 6mm ply for the sides, back and front/sides and 9mm for the seat/bed bit. Not sure if that will be strong enough tho... Plan to have all the structures built this weekend, and maybe the lighting fitted. Got a bike to sort before 24th July too!
Yep thinking I may need to have one across the centre of the larger seat are, otherwise its 65" between struts. May make it easier to create a lift up lid for storage too.
So change of plan as the van isnt really long enough for a corner sofa/bed and get bike and other kit in. So simple bench bed which doubles as storage but has a second fold out top to a 4' bed (if I need it). All built, just need some screws (ran out) for hinges on bed part and configure some legs. Flooring complete and light rails fitted - bit of batten around the top seems perfect. Overall really happy. Only big job is a switch for the lights after I have properly fitted the, and some shelving for wheels, tools and other bits n bobs. Not got a solution decided for that yet...
Packed for first use. Not fully finished bed but the one bunk is enough for me, wheels under the cover and need to pack the gennie in front of them to wedge them it. Race spares and cooking shizzle all packed away in the seating box or the camping storage unit with table which I have lashed in Either it is a home built cupboard for the wheels or some extra tie down point. All in all pretty chuffed.
