749 Boot Scuff Marks On Frame

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Tom Brands, Jul 7, 2015.

  1. Hey all,

Recently i noticed the paint coming off of my frame where the inside of my boot rubs on the frame.
Bare metal was visible, so we touched it up with some base paint and after that some red touch up paint.

But that too will rub off, so my question to you guys is: Does anyone of you experience the same issue? Of so how did you solve it?

I have been looking at some rearsets that have a protection plate, but they all cost too much.

    Thanks

  2. Ive seen carbon frame protectors for 999/749. Only seen them a couple of times on ebay and didnt notice if they covered that area.

  3. Thanks, I've googled it, but can't seem to come up with anything descent regarding frame protectors
    If anyone has a link?

  4. Ouch!! that is insane.

And the carbon on the frame is too much.
    I'dd pref keep it red.

Maybe some red rubber and sticky tape?!? :)

  5. The clear pads they use on bicycles to protect the frame from cables and chain??

  6. Is it a red frame ? If so I used to just wrap red electrical round my 848 frame where things either needed to fit or rubbed. You could only see it up close and personal.

  7. Yeah it's a red one.

Thanks for all the tips guys!

  8. why not just use transparent vinyl on your frame.

  9. That is my item! Item was ended early as was of stock. Luckily I had a spare to send to the person that bid on it. Took me ages to Source the correct vinyl. They got a bargain as it ended early at 99p! Usual price is £12.95. I have them on my bike.
