My next door neighbour has had a puzzling and persistent problem which I am hoping the "collective" might be able to help with. Between services, the tappets on one cylinder started to rattle so got adjusted. 50 miles later the same cylinder got noisy again and this has gone on for over 1500 miles. No matter what he does they don't stay adjusted. I've looked at the usual obvious stuff so it's not as simple as the adjuster nut coming loose. Has anyone had or know of similar issues with Guzzies that have a solution ? Andy
Hopefully not the same problem? but my (ancient) Guzzi Le Mans recently had a valve to piston interface and on one cylinder the only obvious sign was an increased valve clearance (the other had low compression due to bent valve not closing fully). See my 'Guzzi Le Mans2' thread for more info.
That's a sound suggestion. Sadly he's no mechanic so is not prepared to try anything major and there is a dirth of good M-G mechanics to turn to nearby. Thanks Pete. Ndy
